24 Playable Characters Confirmed for “Tekken 7” When it’s Released to the PlayStation 4 in July

A few days ago, there have been reports that the release date of the fighting video game “Tekken 7” will be officially announced during the San Diego Comic Con event in California on July 25.

However, there is now new information coming out that the game will actually be released exclusively on the PlayStation 4 during the Evolution Championship Series (Evo) 2015 to be held in Bally’s / Paris Las Vegas Hotel and Casino on July 17 to 19, reports Crossmap.

Apparently, the much-anticipated Bandai Namco game is included in the game lineup for Evo 2015 which includes “Ultra Street Fighter IV,” “Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3,” “Super Smash Bros” for Wii U, “Guilty Gear Xrd – SIGN -,” “Killer Instinct,” “Mortal Kombat X,” “Persona 4,” “Arena Ultimax,” and “Super Smash Bros Melee.”

But until Bandai Namco makes an official confirmation on the launching or official release date of “Tekken 7” on the PS4, these dates are just speculations at this time.

Confirmed characters

Bandai Namco has released the arcade version of “Tekken 7” and has likewise added three new characters to it beginning end-March including Jin Kazama, Devil Jin, and Josie Rizal.

But thus far, there are now 24 confirmed playable characters for “Tekken 7.” They are Alisa, Asuka, Bryan, Claudio, Devil Jin, Dragunov, Feng, Heihachi, Hwoarang, Jin, Josie, Katarina, Kazumi, Kazuya, King, Lars, Law, Leo, Lili, Lucky Chloe, Paul, Shaheen, Steve and Xiaoyu.

Among the confirmed playable characters, there is only limited information on Claudio Serafino except for the fact that he is an Italian and he uses the Sinus Styled Purification Sorcery for his fighting style.

The latest and most controversial Tekken character is Josie Rizal, whose name came from the Philippine national hero Jose Rizal. Josie combines eskrima and kickboxing for her fighting style.

The second most controversial character is Lucky Chloe who is a culture freak. She was previously thought to be Japanese but she is not, according to game director and producer Katsuhiro Harada.

Then there is Shaheen from Saudi Arabia. As a new “Tekken 7” character, he was officially announced on January 1, 2015. He uses his military fighting style in the game. He possesses a scimitar around his waist and his head is adorned with a shemagh and an agal.

More time to finalize game

Bandai Namco will not be participating in Japan’s Golden Week, which is a series of Japanese holidays beginning with the Showa Day on April 29.

The game developer confirmed that it is not participating on the event in order to buy itself some time while they change the development and release schedule of the characters in “Tekken 7.”

Harada did not reveal anything specific about which characters in “Tekken 7” are they changing or the release date of the video game on Sony’s next generation gaming console.
