There’s been a lot of buzz in the communities of Toyota lovers lately, as the company has just started the soft launch of their newest 2017 Prius Prime, and many people have been discussing the value of the new model and what it brings to the table. It’s clear that Toyota have put a lot of effort into making this happen, but is the new car actually worth its price?
It’s not hard to see that Toyota are paying attention to the responses to their previous releases, as the company has made some changes to the design of the 2017 Prius Prime that are clearly in response to comments that were made about the previous Prime.
When the last model came out, it got somewhat poor reviews for several specific reasons, mainly the size of its battery and the price Toyota were asking for the car, in light of everything it had to offer. The new Prius comes with an increased battery size – exactly twice the capacity of its predecessor, actually – and better fuel efficiency, so this time there shouldn’t be so many comments questioning the price, hopefully.
Reports also indicate that there are much better financing options available now due to the new configuration of the car and how it performs in terms of emissions, and people have already been curiously peeking in its direction.
Performance-wise, pretty much everything has been improved in the 2017 Prius Prime. The only category where the car isn’t significantly impressive compared to its predecessor is its top speed, but other than that, the 2017 Prius Prime is a much better machine than the last model.
The handling of the car has been the subject of particular praise from some reviewers, and the overall comfort level it offers on the road has been enjoying a lot of positive attention from all over the place. Toyota really have everything in place for a good release this time, so hopefully they are going to get it right.
The only point that has been drawing some criticism is the interior design of the car. While it looks fantastic on the outside, the company’s designers have made some questionable decisions for the interior, and the new version doesn’t exactly strike as appealing or modern.
In fact, some have described it as a “love it or hate it” situation, although it’s not objectively bad by any means, so anyone interested in buying the 2017 Prius Prime should definitely take a look at some previews of the car’s interior before jumping to that decision.
Other than that, there isn’t much to say about the 2017 Prius Prime itself. What is interesting about the situation though, is how the release of this car aligns it against some of the company’s competitors. We don’t know if Toyota deliberately chose this time to release the new Prius Prime, but they are currently facing a lot of competition from all sides of the market, and it’s going to be an exciting fight.
That’s definitely not a bad situation for the consumer in any way, as more competition of course means better prices and more deals to choose from. So, once again, those who have been eyeing the 2017 Prius Prime for a while may want to consider buying it at this time, as the deals might decrease in quality in the future. If the car doesn’t perform that well on the market though, Toyota might still be willing to make some good offers for it.
