In yet another relatively minor release of information about the 2017 Mercedes Benz E-Class, we got to see additional details about the model’s interior and how much comfort it’s going to offer to its driver and passengers. It looks like Mercedes are about to live up to their reputation with this release, as they have been preparing something quite solid and worth checking out. Of course, as with previous models by the company, the design is aimed at pleasing the general public so some elements might be seen as a bit clichéd by some interested buyers, but for others, this is just part of the charm of Mercedes.
The interior looks as stylish as we would expect from the next installment in that line, and it looks like the company’s designers have been playing around with some more creative ideas for the general layout as well. According to some publications, the design is inspired by the S-Class, and this confirms previous rumors which were claiming pretty much the same. However, there are also some noticeable differences which make the E-Class stand out and it’s quite pleasing to the eye in general.
In fact, once we take a closer look at the layout and setup of the new E-Class, it’s quite obvious that there are some serious differences in its design compared to that of the S-Class. It might have been inspired in a very general sense, but at the same time it follows a somewhat different design direction which gives it a really nice “personality”. According to some, this is just a symptom of the car following the latest design trends on the market and trying to innovate in order to fit the “2017” in its name, so changes like these should be expected.
On the outside, the model will be a bit larger but will still retain the characteristic looks of the Mercedes brand. We might expect to see it trimmed down here and there, cutting out details that can be seen as unnecessary in today’s design trends, but other than that it should be quite easily recognizable and should retain everything that makes Mercedes cars what they are.
Last but definitely not least, Mercedes are also reportedly planning to refresh the engine of the model, making it more powerful and better optimized for all kinds of conditions, and they’re also going to bring out a brand new line of engines to add to their line-up. There are some claims that the current V6 models offered by the company will be replaced by the new ones, but we don’t know the exact details of future availability in the car’s models.
Knowing Mercedes though, they will probably try to keep their engine line-up slim and without too much clutter, as the company has generally been very fond of sharing technology between their models where appropriate. They are definitely able to make it appropriate in plenty of cases too, which is why they are generally able to progress so fast with their designs.
With all of those details and the additional claims of features such as reduced weight and an optimized frame for better aerodynamics, this model should be an absolute winner on the market and should be talked about for quite a while. Even if it doesn’t achieve its goal of reaching a broad, wide audience, it should still cause quite a stir in at least some market niches and should be recognized for its features very widely.
