2017 Jaguar F-Pace May Be Late in Joining the SUV Party But With its Excellent Build and Great Styling, It Has All the Right to Be, Critics Note

The 2017 Jaguar F-Pace is the first foray of British luxury carmaker Jaguar Land Rover in the highly competitive SUV market.

While its entry is obviously a bit late, the 2017 Jaguar F-Pace has more than made up for it with its excellent build as well as its great and sexy styling that many critics believe that Jaguar has all the right reason to take its time in building its first ever SUV.

The 2017 F-Pace features remarkable acceleration and handling, a responsive touchscreen in its technology-savvy interior cabin, excellent rear cargo room, great interior comfort, and most of all, competitive pricing.

Just like other Jaguar vehicles, the 2017 F-Pace is also very engaging behind the wheel. Some of the vehicle’s strongest attributes are surprisingly its interior ergonomics and domestic utility, cites Digital Trends.

More importantly, the 2017 Jaguar F-Pace actually managed to retain as much of Jaguar’s signature driving feel as a 4,000-pound SUV can, which makes it an effective competitive compromise that would also appeal to sports car fans.

In terms of downsides, the Jaguar SUV also has a few including its not-too-adequate infotainment system, at least to some, its brakes that could still be strengthened, and it has no Apple CarPlay or Android Auto feature just yet.

A cut above the rest

Most premium SUVs in the market today have about as much personality as a suburban subdivision, prompting one motoring critic to say that the problem with SUVs today is they look like SUVs, notes Bloomberg.

The 2017 Jaguar F-Pace is pretty much the same but it is actually pretty good because it has a driving character that is interesting enough to remember, making it a cut above the rest.

The looks of the F-Pace evolved from the form of the low-slung roadster F-Type, rather than from other SUVs on the road.

Obviously, Jaguar developed the F-Pace to tap into the lucrative crossover market that keeps growing worldwide. Its strategy seems to be working. Last year, Jaguar sold 14,466 vehicles total in the US, a truly paltry sum for what is supposed to be the mass luxury.

Jaguar sold 83,986 vehicles globally in 2015. But since May, sales of the XE sedan and F-Pace have constituted half of Jaguar’s sales in the US. And in the first seven months of this year, the brand’s total vehicle sales in the US were up by 59%.

Minimal yet comfortable

The design of the 2017 Jaguar F-Pace conforms perfectly to how a buyer will use the car: The massive trunk with automatic closing function looks large enough to fit a refrigerator.

And the ceiling-long power automatic sunroof drenches the interior with light and a feeling that the driver is not trapped in a safe with every single one of his kids’ friends after soccer practice.

Everything else inside the F-Pace is minimal and comfortable and sporty, not stodgy or overburdened with plenty of options and technology.

The 2017 Jaguar F-Pace is being regarded by motoring enthusiasts and critics as the best-looking SUV there is today, bar none.

Wes Reynal, Editor of Autoweek, describes the F-Pace as graceful where it needs to be and edgy in a few places which make it really perfect.

He says that it is obvious just by looking at it that the F-Pace is a Jaguar because it shows traces of the luxury car family. Its interiors look more like a lot of the XE too. The SUV is also comfortable and the body stays flat in corners.

Reynal said that he would take the 2017 Jaguar F-Pace all day long over a BMW X5. He also cited that the vehicle has perked up the Jaguar sales by up to almost 60% even though the SUV just made it to the market in May this year.
