The first ever SUV of British luxury carmaker Jaguar Land Rover, the 2017 Jaguar F-Pace, is expected to double the company’s profit upon its launch this coming spring.
The four-wheel drive is, in fact, projected to become an instant best-seller of the car manufacturer and surpass its entire current lineup which sold 16,000 units in the US last year and 51,000 units worldwide, reports the Parent Herald.
In order to pump up motoring fans with the upcoming release of the 2017 F-Pace, Jaguar has launched a new video early last month featuring Jose Mourinho driving the new SUV on a frozen lake in Arjeplog, Sweden, as part of the documented test drive of the vehicle.
Critics believe that the Jaguar F-Pace concept was pretty spot-on compared to the real deal, which indicates that Jaguar did not get too ambitious in giving the SUV a completely unique look. In fact, its headlights have been adopted from the ‘J’ Blade design that was also used in the 2017 Jaguar XE and the 2016 Jaguar XF, and so are the gaping grille and the large air intakes.
The side of the SUV is pretty simple as well. With the exception of a pair of side gills that extend over the front doors, and an inverted crease in the bodywork that gives the SUV an agile stance.
Over at the back of the 2017 Jaguar F-Pace, it’s more of the same in the sense that the British luxury carmaker did not try to do anything spectacular or controversial with the design, opting for something a little more consistent with its range of sedans.
Heavily inspired by C-X17 concept
The styling of the 2017 Jaguar F-Pace is heavily inspired by the C-X17 line of concept cars that were presented back in 2013. A big reason for it is the overwhelmingly positive response to the 2014 Jaguar C-X17 concept, details Top Speed.
The 2017 Jaguar F-Pace was officially introduced in September last year during the Frankfurt International Motor Show and then again at the Los Angeles auto show in November.
As a 2017 model, the SUV will come out of the retail markets in the second half of this year, and is bound to give the Porsche Macan a strong competition in the already competitive segment.
The F-Pace is powered by a series of high-powered engines which the company hopes to use in turning it as the perfect springboard to penetrating and establishing a niche in the increasingly competitive SUV market in the US and Europe, as well as in many parts of the world.
The interior of the F-Pace shares plenty of similarities from both the XE and the XF, particularly on the aspect of luxury and refinement. The luxurious feel is defined by the range of contemporary options available for the SUV.
In addition, the 2017 Jaguar F-Pace has plenty of space for an SUV that it can comfortably seat five passengers including the driver. The leather sports seats are designed with comfort and support in mind with 14 different adjustments including heating and cooling functions.
Laying the genetic foundation for two more models
The 2017 Jaguar F-Pace, which is expected to roll out to the dealerships beginning this coming spring, is certainly compelling enough to lay the genetic foundation for a more affordable E-Pace and a more luxurious J-Pace.
Critics went on to describe the 2017 F-Pace as possessing some serious but hidden off-roading talents, apparently because it is the architecture that Land Rover will base its new mid-liner on, which is destined to come between the four-door Evoque and the Range Rover Sport come 2018.
With the 2017 F-Pace, Jaguar Land Rover is actually bringing the brand’s sexy styling and athletic moves to a crowded market.
