Meanwhile, in the motion picture category, Damien Chazelle’s musical “La La Land” bagged most nominations with seven. The coming-of-age drama “Moonlight” comes close second with six.
The Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone starrer has been nominated for Best Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Original Score, and Best Original Song.
Stone and Gosling have been nominated for the Best Actress ad Best Actor category, respectively. Stone goes against Lily Collins, Annette Benning, Hailee Steinfeld, and Meryl Streep while Gosling is up against Colin Farrell, Hugh Grant, Jonah Hill, and Ryan Reynolds for the award.
“Hacksaw Ridge” starring Andrew Garfield managed to obtain three nods including Best Motion Picture – Drama, Best Actor for Garfield, and Best Director for Mel Gibson.
Disney’s “Moana” nabbed two nods including Best Original Song. The latest animated film along with “Zootopia” will battle it out for the Best Animated Feature Film category.
The 74th annual Golden Globe Awards will take place on January 8, 2017 at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California and will be televised on NBC.
The final ballots will be mailed to all HFPA members on December 19 while the deadline for receipt of all final ballots will be on January 4, 2017.
Jimmy Fallon will be hosting the program, while Meryl Streep was announced as the Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award honoree.
