The 2016 Ford Bronco has yet to see the light of day but there is already a new set of rumors indicating that a 2017 edition of the vehicle is already forthcoming.
While there have been insinuations that the 2016 Ford Bronco is just an offshoot of an April Fool’s Day joke on April 1, 2014 that was blown out of proportion, reports continue to come out regarding the possibility of it finally coming out soon.
It also does not help that amid the speculations about the vehicle, Ford Motor Company has yet to make an official statement or announcement to either confirm or deny the existence or non-existence of the 2016 Ford Bronco.
Surprisingly, when the Bronco Legend website posted the features and specifications of the supposed 2017 Ford Bronco, they were the same as that of the rumored 2016 Ford Bronco, making it quite suspicious and thus validating some notions that either one of the upcoming vehicles is not true or both.
However, because of all the details, features, and specifications that were already leaked or released about the 2016 Ford Bronco, it is just too difficult to surmise that those wealth of information are products of a vivid imagination of the person who have initiated the biggest hoax in the international motoring industry.
According to the site, the new 2017 Ford Bronco will be based on the Ford Atlas Concept and shall be manufactured from lighter materials, which were also quite similar to the previous description about the 2016 Ford Bronco.
Accordingly, the 2017 Ford Bronco model will come with two types of V6 engines and a powerful V8 engine which shall be derived from the Ford F-150. It shall also have a six-speed automatic transmission and shall come in either a front-wheel drive or an all-wheel drive.
Own analysis
In a previous report, the Bronco Legend website is playing it safe by not claiming that the features and specifications that it published came from leak source or sources but based on its own analysis and also on the previous Bronco models of Ford.
Accordingly, the new Ford Bronco should pick up where the last Bronco left off. It has been previously reported that the 2016 Ford Bronco will be based on the Ford Atlas Concept with an extended cabin instead of the flatbed at the rear end.
It is also expected that the front of the vehicle shall have a large grille framed by a pair of LED headlights that are also backstopped by fog lights just underneath them to ensure visibility even under inclement weather.
Over at the rear, the 2016 Bronco shall sport a sizeable tailgate and a stainless bumper with color accents at the tips, as well as a pair of twin taillights.
Higher clearance
The vehicle shall also sport the same suspension used in the Ford SVT Raptor that shall give it at least 11.5 inches of clearance on the front wheels or maybe up to 12 inches should Ford decides to make the adjustment. That would make the 2016 Ford Bronco an ideal all-terrain vehicle.
