This year has delivered many more extravagant television adverts that have used the latest technology to seize our attention and point us towards how their new products can augment our lives.

Whether it’s advertising an online banking service, or even just showing off a new casino app, there’s nothing like a striking television advert to capture our imaginations. And with prime-time advertising spots on TV spiralling, it’s up to these innovative television adverts to show us how there’s nothing that advertisers won’t try when trying to sell us their products.

The communications agency JWT have had a long history of creating thought-provoking media, but when they teamed up with the Dutch banking firm ING to make a striking new advertisement, they really raised the bar.

They did this by creating a new Rembrandt painting by using the latest in 3D printing techniques and an array of deep learning algorithms that perfectly communicated the message of how digital processes could facilitate the most fundamental human activities.

Similar technological innovation can be seen in the striking new advert used by the Coral gaming brand to promote their casino app. This uses striking imagery of an electrified tiger roaming the streets of a gloomily lit metropolis to carry home the product’s themes of excitement and glamour.

It’s also interesting to see how in the Coral update of how they created the advert, the brand used the talents behind the likes of the rebooted Jungle Book to conjure up an electric tiger that perfectly symbolised the raw dynamism behind the firm’s new casino app.

And it’s not only casino app brands who’ve used the inspiration of Hollywood to promote their products in bold new ways, as the Spanish lottery used the highly-rated Leo Burnett advertising brand to create an advert that paralleled Pixar in how digital animation could approximate human emotions.

The award-winning TV advert used the animated character of Justino whose humble life and pleasant demeanour won legions of fans across the internet through a perfectly executed social media campaign that shows how important it is to ensure a degree of interactivity in any 21st century campaign.

Although all of these adverts look hugely expensive, it’s the way that they’ve cleverly used the latest in digital technologies to create striking new works that proves that whether it’s a banking firm or a new casino app, there are always new ways that advertisers can capture our attention.
