2016 Toyota Tacoma Comes with a Larger Design, Still Falls in Mid-Range Segment!

Toyota are a well-known brand in the mid-range pickup market, and for at least one good reason – the Tacoma has managed to establish a very good name for the company in this area. And it seems that they’re going to continue that trend with the 2016 edition of the truck, which comes with various improvements to match the growing competition that Toyota have been facing in this market segment. Still, the company doesn’t seem overly worried about the situation – if anything, they have been displaying a lot of confidence about the new 2016 Tacoma.

Mid-range trucks still aren’t quite as popular as other types, and they only make up about 5% of the overall pickup market in the US. However, predictions for 2015 and 2016 project a noticeable growth in that number, which should impact the performance of the upcoming Tacoma positively. The model has been long overdue for a serious overhaul, as it’s been a decade since a major improvement was introduced into the line.

The small market segment that is the mid-range pickup truck market is still dominated heavily by the Tacoma, which accounts for 64% of that market, according to reports. It’s obvious that the company has a lot on the line with this release, and they’re putting a lot of effort into making it as perfect as possible – which is completely understandable. GM are not far behind in their own market share, and it won’t be surprising to see them becoming even more popular in the near future.

At a glance, the new 2016 Toyota Tahoma sports a very fresh, stylish look, with a sleek design that matches the general trend of recent times. The interior has been made quieter, while the overall control and driving experience have been made smoother and more intuitive, thanks to the various new gadgets added both under the hood as well as inside the cabin. Among the many new technological features of the new truck, there is a wireless charging station for phones, push-button ignition, automatic climate control, as well as a touchscreen interface. The interior is comfortable and luxurious as well, with leather seats and a slightly revised design.

Buyers will have the choice of either a 2.7 liter engine or a 3.5 liter one – and both can be bought with either manual or automatic six-speed transmission. Flexibility is key in this market, and Toyota understand that, which is why the company has never been shy on giving their customers access to as many different options for their purchases as possible. In a while, we’ll see if the improvements to the design of the Tacoma work out for them, although so far we have every reason to believe that the model will do well.
