Among the improvements that the 2016 Nissan Maxima is going to introduce to the line, it will bring a whole new look, something that has actually been hyped a lot recently. While it wasn’t known exactly how much different the new Maxima would look, recent reports claim that the design is actually radically different, and a significant improvement in the line as a whole.
The look has reportedly been borrowed from the 2015 Murano CUV, and it’s a lot sleeker and more streamlined than the previous designs in the Maxima line. Whether that’s good or bad is mostly subjective, as definitely not everyone likes a sleek approach to a car’s design. At the same time, most critics have been happy with the redesign, and have been expressing a positive attitude towards the new approach that Nissan have taken with the line.
On the front, a characteristic V shape is seen on the grille, while the overall appearance of the model has been described as more “dramatic” than previous entries in the Maxima line. It’s definitely noticeable that Nissan are trying to make changes to the line and possibly attract new people to it, although they should also be careful not to alienate any of their old fans, of course. The company is going to offer the Maxima with a 3.5 liter V6 engine, namely the Xtronic CVT, with an improved fuel efficiency and good emission figures. There is also a rumor about a Pathfinder edition, with a 4 cylinder petrol engine with a 250 horsepower output, but that hasn’t been confirmed yet. The rumor does come from a source that is somewhat plausible, however, so it might be worth keeping it in mind for the future. Nissan is generally a company that’s fond of providing multiple options, so it does sound plausible, all things considered.
