2016 Nissan Altima Fuel Efficiency of 39 MPG on the Highway to Enable the Sedan to Make a Run for the Top-Selling Passenger Car Title in the US!

More than its affordable price range, the 2016 Nissan Altima shall reportedly feature a class-leading fuel efficiency of 39 miles per gallon (mpg) on the highway. Car enthusiasts believe that the feature will help push the Altima from being the third best-selling passenger car this year to possibly become the second or the best-selling passenger car in the US next year.

Production in full swing

As the 2016 Altima is already expected to hit the showrooms anytime this month, reports have it that production for the mid-size sedan is now in full swing at the company’s plant in Smyrna, Tennessee, where the previous versions of the vehicle were also manufactured.

The main engine variants of the 2016 Nissan Altima are actually carry-over from the previous iteration of the sedan with the base engine being the 2.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine capable of exuding maximum strength of 182 horsepower and maximum torque of 180 pound-feet.

The other variant is the powerful 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine that is capable of dishing off a maximum power of 270 horsepower and maximum torque of 251 pound-feet. Both engine variants are mated to a revised Xtronic CVT transmission, which sends power to the vehicle’s front wheels. The 2016 Nissan Altima also comes with a sportier SR trim level.

Much of the significant changes on the 2016 Nissan Altima happened on its exterior, following the footsteps of the Nissan Maxima in terms of visual style and theme.

Some of the more pronounced exterior improvements include the upside-down trapezoidal grille, larger and more angular swept-back headlights, among several other features.

Stylish and affordable

The 2016 Nissan Altima also appeared to have nailed buyer expectations once again for a mid-sized sedan because apart from being extremely stylish, the vehicle is also very affordable, notes Your Single Source for News.

There will be five variants of the 2016 Nissan Altima with the bare bone variant to be priced at $23,325. It is the model that is being powered by a 2.5-liter engine with CVT. This retail price is actually $200 more than the price of the 2015 Nissan Altima so buyers know right away that they are getting a bargain.

The S model comes with a price of $23,725 while the SR trim level, that features sports specific suspension system and 18-inch wheels, is valued at $25,295. Both models are also powered by 2.5-liter gasoline engines.

There are also high-end trim levels which are the SV, priced at $26,285, and the SL model, valued at $29,395, and features leather seats. For those opting for greater power, the two high-end variants could also come with the 3.5-liter V6 engine option. The price for SV will go up at $28,215 while that for the SL will increase to $32,915.

The 2016 Nissan Altima is one of the most dynamic vehicles that the Japanese carmaker has produced to date. In addition to technological enhancements and design accents, the all-new sedan comes with interior features that are uniquely all its own.
