Since late last year, there have been reports that the 2016 Ford Bronco would finally be launched by the American carmaker during the 2016 North American International Auto Show to be held in Detroit, Michigan on January 11 to 24.
Unfortunately, the two-week event has already come to pass and there was still no sight or official word about the 2016 Bronco from Ford Motor Company.
With that being said, it seems very likely at this point that the 2016 Ford Bronco is just a hoax, which had its great run on the internet since it was propagated as an April Fool’s Day joke starting on April 1, 2014.
While the rumored features and specifications of the 2016 Bronco have been very consistent on the internet over the last couple of months, the fact that no official announcement or statement is coming from the American carmaker at this point in time means that there is nothing concrete and definite yet about the SUV.
Last official statement
The last official statement from Ford about the Bronco model came when the company showed a concept of the iconic brand during the 2004 North American International Auto Show held also in Detroit, Michigan, cites the Korea Portal.
That was the reason why critics and motoring enthusiasts thought and believe that if ever Ford would launch its next Bronco, it would do so in the same event.
Unfortunately, nothing happened during the recently-concluded 2016 North American International Auto Show, much to the chagrin of the widely-anticipating fans and enthusiasts of the Ford Bronco.
It was also in 1996 when the last model of the Ford Bronco came out so having it released after 20 years seem like a good idea, details Cars Concept 2016.
It remains unclear if Ford would be launching the 2016 Bronco in the next few months or weeks but if the American carmaker is indeed planning something, it has to do it before the second half of the year.
Releasing a 2016 model after June would make the variant already a 2017 model and has already defeated the nomenclature.
Pressure now on carmaker
Thus, the pressure is now on Ford, assuming that the 2016 Bronco is a real deal, to finally unveil the long-rumored SUV, which started way back in April 2014.
According to previous reports, the 2016 Ford Bronco will have a different design from the 2004 Ford Bronco concept as the latest model shall have new lines that are fashionable.
It shall also have a box-like roof line, a short wheel-base, and round headlights that are similar to the early Bronco models back in the 60s.
Reports also have it that SUV enthusiasts are going to love the new Bronco because of its powerful engines that shall complement its intimidating look. It shall apparently blend the classic features of the iconic brand with modern technology.
In terms of interior, the 2016 Ford Bronco shall reportedly have new technological features like a computerized navigation system that is touch screen. It shall also have one of the best safety features and driving guides that alert the driver whenever he decides to change lane or veer off.
Wood has been greatly used in the interior design that gives it a classical finish. The cabin will be spacious and roomy for five people, ensuring their convenience and comfort. The luggage compartment is big enough to hold plenty of things including large ones, without any worry.
As the 2016 Ford Bronco is reportedly based on the Atlas concept model, it shall have a considerably high wheel suspension system. It shall have a wide stance in the front including a large grill. It shall also feature two powerful LED lights and advanced fog lights for extra safety visibility during harsh weather conditions.
