While 2016 is just two months old, it is becoming clear that the 2016 Ford Bronco shall not come out this year.
There were reports last year that the 2016 Ford Bronco will finally be unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan early last month but the vehicle was a no-show.
It could be recalled that the last official sighting of the Bronco was way back in 2004 when a concept of the truck-like SUV was introduced also at the North American International Auto Show.
With no confirmation, announcement, or any form of statement coming from Ford Motor Company regarding the 2016 Ford Bronco, it seems clear at this point that the vehicle was just a product of a hoax or an inventive mind.
The other development that seems to insinuate that the 2016 Ford Bronco looks unlikely at this time is the fact that some reports are referring to the vehicle already as the 2017 Ford Bronco.
The Daily Car Post actually refers to the vehicle as the 2016/2017 Ford Bronco, which means that the vehicle is neither for this year or for next year but for both, which almost sounds ridiculous.
Should be brandishing the model by this time
If indeed Ford is working on the Bronco, the American carmaker should be brandishing and drumbeating about it by this time if it is to be a 2016 model. Most carmakers talk about their latest car models, at least, one year ahead in order to hype up promotions for the new offerings.
With hardly any official confirmation or denial from Ford, it is becoming clear that the 2016 Bronco is about to be overtaken by the very timeline that the rumors have set for its release date.
According to the Christian Post, the only reliable piece of information that it has come across with recently regarding the Ford Bronco is a report that says Ford and the United Auto Workers have entered into a tentative labor contract.
The agreement provides for wage increases for Ford workers and transfer of several vehicle models outside of the US.
The latter part of the agreement has piqued the interest of Ford fans because apparently, among the vehicle lines from the American carmaker whose production would be relocated elsewhere are the Ford Focus and the Ford C-Max in 2018.
The move would free up Ford’s Michigan assembly plant to produce a new product. A second model shall also be reportedly added to the plant in 2020.
Latest speculations are rife that the 2018 product could be the Ford Bronco or it could also be the one to be manufactured in 2020. With that being said, it seems unlikely that a 2016 Ford Bronco will come out, or even the one making the hype these days, the 2017 Ford Bronco.
Absent from the scene for 2 decades
It was way back in 1996 when the last model of the Ford Bronco came out so having it released after 20 years seem like a good idea.
It remains unclear if Ford would be launching the 2016 Bronco in the next few months or weeks but if the American carmaker is indeed planning something, it has to do it before the second half of the year.
Releasing a 2016 model after June would make the variant already a 2017 model and has already defeated the nomenclature.
Thus, the pressure is now on Ford, assuming that the 2016 Bronco is a real deal, to finally unveil the long-rumored SUV, which started way back in April 2014.
According to previous reports, the 2016 Ford Bronco will have a different design from the 2004 Ford Bronco concept as the latest model shall have new lines that are fashionable.
It shall also have a box-like roof line, a short wheel-base, and round headlights that are similar to the early Bronco models back in the 60s.
Reports also have it that SUV enthusiasts are going to love the new Bronco because of its powerful engines that shall complement its intimidating look. It shall apparently blend the classic features of the iconic brand with modern technology.
