The 2016 Ford Bronco is one of the more heavily rumored vehicles that’s supposedly hitting the market sometime in the near future, and one of the most recent claims about it was that it was supposed to be revealed at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show. Many industry experts were already skeptical of the rumors when they started, but after the event passed without any such revelations, this just confirmed those suspicions.
Even that doesn’t seem to have discouraged people from discussing the possibility of a 2016 Bronco appearing, as rumors are still going around wildly on various discussion boards. Even Ford seem to have noticed the situation, as at one point the company came forward and stated that they don’t have any plans for a new Bronco in the works. Ford still seem to realize the huge love people have for the Bronco though, and they could find a way to satisfy their fans in the future.
And of course, as can be expected, even that statement by the company didn’t do much to stop some of the more prominent discussions. Some people seem convinced that even if Ford were developing a new Bronco, they would not confirm it until they were ready, and so the company’s public statement should not be taken at face value. On the other hand, the opposite side of this argument says that Ford could have easily just not said anything if that was the case, and it was strange of the company to specifically want to get involved in the debates about the 2016 Bronco.
So, is the truck happening or not? It’s difficult to say right now – but if Ford really are planning such a release, it could have drastic effects on the market, and really help the company secure a leading position. The Bronco is a well-established name for truck loves, and if Ford decide to make a modernized release in the line, making use of current technology and improving the drive capabilities of the vehicle, this could very easily be a winning offer from Ford’s side.
Some of the rumors regarding what the vehicle could have as an engine include a 3.5 liter EcoBoost as well as a 4.5 liter diesel engine. There are also rumors that the 2016 Bronco will come in two different versions with regards to its transmission, and drivers will be able to choose between automatic and manual transmission, both 6-gear. This doesn’t sound implausible, especially if Ford are looking to make the Bronco powerful enough to match other modern trucks in its class, but it could use an extra variant with an even better engine for the true off-road loves; of course, many other factors play into that experience as well, such as control.
