2016 Chevrolet Camaro to Come in Blacked-Out and Gold Illuminated Front Bowties

American carmaker General Motors (GM) announced that it will be making available for pre-orders the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro in August or September, which had fans of the upcoming muscle car extremely excited and delighted.

While the carmaker has yet to announce or reveal any details about the pricing of the upcoming vehicle, it has already revealed the salient features and specifications of all the four trim levels of the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro with the recently released order guide, details The News Wheel.

The guide indicated a surprise trim level option which is the blacked-out bowtie, which the company has made available only in the current Chevrolet Silverado Midnight Edition. The variant will surely make the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro stand out from its predecessors.

Another new option is the gold illuminated front bowtie which will be the first among Chevrolet’s lines of vehicles.

Based on the order guide, the four different variants of the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro will feature powerful engines, wireless charging for mobile devices, adaptive suspension, and many more to make the muscle car hit the ground running.

Eyeing the top spot

When the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro comes out in the US market later this year, it is expected that GM will cut down to size the advantage of the Ford Mustang in terms of number of muscle cars registered and now out in the streets in America since 2009.

According to the Motor Authority, in terms or registration volume from 2009 up to the first half of 2015, the Ford Mustang is at the top spot in the US market with 77,000 new registrations followed only by the Chevrolet Camaro with 66,000. The Dodge Charger is at third with 55,000 units, and the Dodge Challenger is at fourth with 50,000 units before the Chevrolet Corvette rounds up the Top Five at fifth with 32,000 new registrations.

GM expects the 11,000 new registrations currently being enjoyed by Ford on its Mustang will eventually be overtaken when the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro rolls out to the market soon, judging from the huge interest that the company is getting for its upcoming muscle car.

High-performance variants

GM officially unveiled the 2016 Chevrolet Camaron in May at Detroit, Michigan. A month later, GM launched the European model of the latest iteration of the Camaro featuring two engine variants.

Early this month, spy shots of a camouflaged high-performance variant of the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro were snapped at while the vehicle is undergoing test runs in Detroit and its surrounding areas.

From the shape and silhouette of the vehicle, there is no denying that it is clearly a Camaro. However, what takes the cake to indicate that it is a high-performance variant of the latest power sedan are the larger and meatier tires that the camouflaged test vehicle were sporting.

Even the rear portion of the vehicle indicates that there is slight variation from the other Camaro prototypes that were recently displayed in recent international auto shows.

The site believes that the camouflaged vehicle is likely to be the next Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. It has the trimmings and the power to give the Hellcat a true challenge. It is also possible that an LT4 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine would be a nice fit for the next Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, to follow the footsteps of its acknowledged big brother Corvette, which comes in both the LT1 and the LT4 engines.

While there is still no detail as to when the high-performance Camaro will roll out in the market, considering the usual timeline of GM in releasing its latest models, it is likely that the vehicle will hit the market in 2018.

Meanwhile, there are also reports that a pre-production model of the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro was recently caught on camera in a parking lot in Detroit.

The snapshot has given motorists a perspective of the enhanced look at the so-called evolutionary design of the Camaro SS, which looks quite aggressive, accentuated by its stylish and robust design.
