2016 Chevrolet Camaro Ready to Challenge Iconic Muscle Cars in Terms of Performance!

In terms or registration volume from 2009 up to the first half of 2015, the Ford Mustang is at the top spot in the US market with 77,000 new registrations followed only by the Chevrolet Camaro with 66,000. The Dodge Charger is at third with 55,000 units, and the Dodge Challenger at fourth with 50,000 units before the Chevrolet Corvette rounds up the Top Five at fifth with 32,000 new registrations.

GM expects the 11,000 new registrations currently being enjoyed by Ford on its Mustang will eventually be overtaken by the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro before the end of the year judging from the huge interest that the company is getting for its newly-released muscle car.

GM officially unveiled the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro in May at Detroit, Michigan. A month later, GM launched the European model of the latest iteration of the Camaro featuring two engine variants..

Meanwhile, Chevrolet engineers are now starting to focus on the development of the next ZL1 version of the muscle car. A camouflaged test version of the car has recently been spotted, but the concealment was not enough to hide some of the model’s more obvious exterior refinements and performance tweaks.

The front of the new variant of the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro has a much more aggressive fascia with bigger air inlets. The air inlets are obviously meant to manage the flow of air around the engine because the hood also has a fairly large extractor as well.
