2016 Chevrolet Camaro Faced with Serious Blind Spot Issue; Will American Carmaker Remedy Problem before Officially Rolling Out Muscle Car? Let’s See

American carmaker General Motors has showcased the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro in various international motor shows, the latest being at the annual Woodward Dream Cruise in Detroit. And as usual, the sixth-generation Camaro drew significant attention from the crowd with its outstanding look and superb muscle car appeal.

However, despite the initial raves and praises on the 2016 Camaro, those who were able to test drive the muscle car, which Chevrolet is planning to compete head-on with the Ford Mustang, have noted the vehicle’s serious blind spot issue.

Apparently, the blind spot on the vehicle is pretty glaring and serious that drivers have complained about because it makes the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro a bit unstable to drive, notes Autoomobile.

It is certainly an issue of safety so the concern has been brought forth to the attention of the American carmaker, hoping that it would be addressed before the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro is officially released to the market by early next year, as reports put it.

Addressing the problem

According to Christian Today, the redesign of the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro has greatly improved the vehicle’s exterior look, which focused on ensuring greater dynamics and speed. However, the carmaker was silent on whether the blind spot issue has been addressed already.

There are speculations saying that Chevrolet engineers have already addressed the issue and the speculations of the latest iteration of the muscle car would actually reveal if it was solved.

So everything will be known once the new models start rolling out from the assembly line and people will see whether the American carmaker has corrected the vital safety issue or not.

But given the reputation of GM and its no-nonsense thrust on safety, it is likely that it is already addressing the issue in production as of this time.

Better than its predecessor

The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro will be made available for pre-ordering starting this month or next month at the latest.

While GM has yet to announce or reveal any details about the pricing of the upcoming vehicle, it has already revealed the key details and features of all the four trim levels of the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro with the recently released order guide.

The guide indicated a surprise trim level option which is the blacked-out bowtie, which the company has made available only in the current Chevrolet Silverado Midnight Edition. The variant will surely make the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro stand out from its predecessors.

Another new option is the gold illuminated front bowtie which will be the first among Chevrolet’s lines of vehicles.

Based on the order guide, the four different variants of the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro will feature powerful engines, wireless charging for mobile devices, adaptive suspension, and many more to make the muscle car hit the ground running.

When the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro comes out in the US market later this year, it is expected that GM will cut down to size the advantage of the Ford Mustang in terms of number of muscle cars registered and now out in the streets in America.

In terms or registration volume from 2009 up to the first half of 2015, the Ford Mustang is at the top spot in the US market with 77,000 new registrations followed only by the Chevrolet Camaro with 66,000. The Dodge Charger is at third with 55,000 units, and the Dodge Challenger at fourth with 50,000 units before the Chevrolet Corvette rounds up the Top Five at fifth with 32,000 new registrations.

GM expects the 11,000 new registrations currently being enjoyed by Ford on its Mustang will eventually be overtaken when the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro rolls out to the market soon, judging from the huge interest that the company is getting for its upcoming muscle car.
