GM have actually been investing quite heavily in the facility for the release of the sixth-generation Camaro, pouring $175 million in the production plant recently. That funding has gone towards new paint systems and new equipment in general, specifically paint systems for the colors that the Camaro will be released in.
Which are namely Summit White, Bright Yellow and Red Hot – apparently the plant wasn’t equipped with the full range of color options before, but now they will be able to properly handle the production of the new Camaro.
We don’t know if the production of the 2016 Camaro will be centralized to that one plant or if the company is going to similarly invest in other locations, but it’s still good to see that the new launch is prompting them to modernize some of their old facilities. If the workers get to keep their jobs after this production round as well, this will be a great launch for everyone, not just the customers and the company’s executives.
