2016 Apple MacBook Pro to Have a Touch-Ready Secondary OLED Display as its Best Feature!

The 2016 Apple MacBook Pro has been rumored to come out during the American tech giant’s “Let Us Loop You In” event last March but that did not happen.

Subsequently, speculations followed that the newest laptop line from Apple might be rolled out during the company’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2016 in June but that did not happen again.

The 2016 Apple MacBook Pro has actually been in the rumor mills as of last year alongside the also rumored 2016 Apple MacBook Air notebook line.

However, beginning this year, the rumors about the 2016 Apple MacBook Air appeared to have died a natural death because it was no longer in the rumor mills.

Latest reports now have it that 2016 Apple MacBook Pro shall finally come out on September 7, during the annual iPhone launching event of the American tech giant.

Accordingly, the 2016 MacBook Pro shall have a massive redesign from its previous model because it will be lighter and thinner than its predecessors. However, the laptop’s best feature would be its touch-ready secondary OLED display that shall be replacing the entire function key row atop the keyboard, reports BGR.

Contextual shortcuts to the user

The secondary OLED display of the 2016 Apple MacBook Pro shall offer contextual shortcuts to the user, making it even easier to interact with frequently used features that are going to be just one touch away.

The OLED bar should offer system-wide shortcuts, but also app-specific shortcuts, on the assumption that developers shall extend support to the feature.

Apple has yet to officially name the OLED display on the 2016 Apple MacBook Pro but insiders say that the company refers to it internally as the ‘Dynamic Function Row.’

The best feature of the 2016 Apple MacBook Pro seemed to have been confirmed no less by reputable Apple analyst Ming-chi Kuo of KGI Securities as early as May this year.

The 2016 Apple MacBook Pro may be launched by the Cupertino-based tech company on September 7, but it is likely to be released to the retail markets a few months later, but definitely within the year.

Reliving the 2016 MacBook Air rumors?

Incidentally, The Verge came out with a report stating that Apple would indeed launch its latest iPhones on September 7 and it could possibly be joined by other devices and gadgets from the company’s pending device roster including the Apple Watch 2, the 2016 Apple MacBook Pro, the iPad Pro 2, the 2016 Apple MacBook Air, and an iMac desktop.

The last two are surprise inclusions but what was really a jaw-dropper is the return to the rumor mills of the 2016 Apple MacBook Air after more than eight months of hiatus.

However, there are also analysts who are saying that Apple might do two more launching events this year, one on September 7 and the other one in October or November in order to unveil all the upcoming six highly-anticipated devices from the company’s stable before the end of the year.

What is also exciting users about the upcoming Apple laptop is its reported new features including a fingerprint scanner, a near-field communication (NFC) chip, and a wireless charging capability.

These major features are already common in some of Apple’s devices including iPhones and iPads, but they have yet to touch base on its laptop lines.

Of the three rumored major features of the 2016 Apple MacBook Pro, the wireless charging capability seems to be the one that shall be a bit of a challenge because Apple has yet to launch an iPhone that has a wireless charging IC.
