2015 Toyota Prius v Receives Similar Visual Design like European Counterpart!

The Prius+, Toyota’s European market model, received a visual overhaul a few months ago, a move which was received very warmly by critics, most of whom were commending Toyota for the improved aesthetics of the vehicle. And now, the Prius v, the American market’s counterpart of the model, is about to receive a similar revision.

The model was shown at the LA Auto Show for the first time, and it comes with a redesigned front, as well as new taillights. The car will be available in new color options as well, with the names including “Absolutely Red” and “Attitude Black Metallic”. There are several options for the headlights, some featuring LED low/high beam lights, and buyers are generally given extensive options for the customization of the car’s front.

The improvements don’t end on the outside, however, as the new Prius v also features various improvements to the interior. Drivers and passengers will get to enjoy their music in much better quality thanks to the new audio system, and the seats have been redone as well, with new advanced designs that make for a more comfortable ride.

That’s about it for the changes to the Prius v – the new model is otherwise exactly the same in mechanical terms, and it still has the same engine and drive system. The battery remains unchanged too, as does the gas mileage. The Prius is a model generally known for performing quite good in the efficiency department, so it’s good to see that Toyota have been able to retain the quality level for the Prius v.

As mentioned above, the new model is exclusive for the US market, and it’s set to launch this month, starting at $26,675 for the base model. There’s also the improved Prius v Five, which will cost $30,935, and overall, buyers who’re already familiar with the pricing of the Prius line shouldn’t find any surprises about the Prius v.

The Prius is a car that not only managed to become a very successful entry into the hybrid market, but it was actually partially responsible for the popularization of the hybrid concept according to many industry expert. Toyota have subsequently started to pay a lot more attention to the design of each new installment into the line, delivering better and better performance each time, while also making the cars quite appealing in visual terms. If this goes on in the future, Toyota can easily retain a very stable market position with the Prius, one that will continue to bring in new buyers for many years, given the rising popularity of hybrids in all market layers, and the growing public interest in them.
