2015 Toyota Hilux Spec Sheet and Review: Release Date in the Dark!

Like we mentioned earlier, the 2015 Toyota Hilux is one of the most anticipated pickup trucks of the year. The vehicle enjoys a steady reputation around the globe for being tough and Toyota promises to introduce further refinement to the upcoming variant, which is bound to give the truck an edge in class.

With Ford and Dodge introducing refinement to this class, the customers’ expectations have risen considerably. Hence, Toyota could not stay far behind. With the 2015 Hilux, Toyota promises to secure a steady support from the clientele, especially from the North American region and Canada.

Toyota plans to introduce the first deluxe pickup truck, and this could change our outlook towards the conventional pickup. Judging by the spy images of the Hilux, the vehicle is the perfect combination of exterior aesthetics, interior suave and brute power. Toyota has confirmed LED headlamps for the 2015 Hilux, and this is the first from the company.

We could soon witness numerous other firsts too, considering that this vehicle rightly deserves to sport such innovation. However, Toyota has confirmed that the LED headlamps will be available initially on the 2015 Hilux Black Edition only, which is a 1000-unit limited edition. We have no word on whether Toyota plan on incorporating the LED headlamp on any other vehicle at the moment, although, we have a feeling that this is just the beginning.

A pickup truck is a suave machine these days and it has come a long way from being the ugly driver’s mini-truck that it used to be. Initial speculations regarding the powertrain suggest that this vehicle will draw power from a range of 2.5 to 3-liter engine blocks while Toyota is likely to incorporate a 4-liter V6 engine block as well.

The 2015 Toyota Hilux goes up against the likes of the Volkswagen Amarok, Ford Ranger, Nissan Frontier, and the Mazda BT50. The prototype was seen testing against the Amarok, and this cemented the fact that the beast is about to be unleashed.

The major changes to the body include leaner front overhang and trapezoidal lower intake. Toyota’s high front grille is divided by horizontal chrome bars, and the 2015 Hilux is larger than its predecessor. Design-wise, there are subtle hints of this car drawing aesthetic inspiration from the Volkswagen Amarok. The Hilux is Toyota’s best-selling pickup truck, and this vehicle has been custom-made to suit the needs of the North American and Canadian landscape. However, the vehicle is capable of handling any terrain. Hence, it cannot be type-casted.
