The 2015 Mazda 2 has been raising a lot of questions, and many drivers have been wondering about the car’s worthiness, given the price tag it comes at. And, according to the majority of reviewers, the new Mazda may very well be a good deal for the money the company is asking for it – but it does have a few small flaws which might irritate some drivers. Still, the overall package is quite attractive, and this is a serious vehicle.
The car’s visual design has been altered significantly. It’s now aiming at a longer, lower style, which can be seen right away in the profile of the vehicle. This has been intentional, according to reports from Ryo Yanagisawa, who was primarily responsible for the car’s design. The company is apparently trying to move away from the boxy model which Japanese cars are traditionally known for, and it seems that their attempts have been quite successful with the design of the new Mazda 2.
At the same time, the new car could have used more work in the rear, according to some reviewers. And indeed, drivers have been commenting on that part of its design around various online discussion boards. While the design isn’t necessarily bad, it’s still noticeably different than what Mazda were doing before, and it might not be up to everyone’s taste, especially those who’re used with the company’s previous designs already.
The new 2015 Mazda 2 is also a noticeable technological step up from the previous models, featuring lane departure signaling and added monitoring for the driver’s blind spots. Drivers who own a smartphone can connect it to the dashboard as well, using the same technology that can be found in the Mazda 3.
It’s not known what exactly will be under the hood of the new Mazda 2, other than the engine – there will be an option for either a petrol or a diesel engine, with the latter one being a brand new model making its debut into Mazda’s models, so it will be interesting to see how the new machine works out. Reports indicate that the engine has been designed very professionally, and performs quite well even under more difficult conditions, even though this is not the main purpose of the car it’s used in.
Last but not least, the car’s driving comfort has been noted as superb, with the overall interior design coming together very nicely and offering a smooth ride, both for the driver as well as passengers. Drivers who’re looking for a nice, compact model with good specifications and a neat visual appearance should definitely give the 2015 Mazda 2 a serious look.
