2014 Honda City to See Reduced Waiting Times!

There have been a lot of issues surrounding the production work at Honda Cars India lately, as the company’s facilities have been failing to meet demands, and the output has been unsatisfactory, leading to long waiting times for customers who have ordered the vehicle or have expressed an interest in purchasing it.

The company has been putting a lot of work into resolving the situation, however, and now they have announced that they have reached a point where they can practically double the output of the plant, bringing it up to 10,000 units produced per month as opposed to the previous 5,000. According to the company, this should have very strong effects on the waiting times that everyone has to go through, and these effects should be noticeable very shortly.

Other than the problems with its manufacturing, the 2014 Honda City has been met with widespread approval from both consumers and critics alike, who have been expressing great satisfaction with the vehicle’s parameters and the asking price for the whole package. However, the City wasn’t the only successful model that Honda put out this year – the Mobilio MPV was also receiving quite the attention from all directions, and the company eventually made the decision to temporarily suspend production of the City in favor of the Mobilio MPV. Now, it seems that they won’t have to resort to these measures any longer, and can resume to their regular production schedule.

Currently, waiting periods for the 2014 Honda City range from a few weeks to several months in the worst instances, and some customers have been voicing their disapproval of the overall situation online. While it’s not rare for a popular car to see itself in such a situation if the initial production isn’t planned accordingly, the subsequent actions taken by Honda were what drove the public to negativity. If the company had postponed the production boost of the Mobilio a little longer, the negativity might have been averted, according to experts.

Whether or not this will affect future sales of the model is not yet clear, although some have been stating that they have already turned their eyes in another direction and are no longer interested in getting a City as their main vehicle, displeased with being forced to wait that long. Others have been claiming that the long wait has made them even more excited to finally sit behind the wheel of the 2014 Honda Civic, and while both sides have their valid points, it’s difficult to say which opinion is more prevalent right now. Keeping a close eye on the model’s sales after production resumes at the normal pace should be a good indicator of what can be expected.
