The problem, according to reports, is that Jim Bob wants to make sure that he will stay on the screen himself and he doesn’t want to let his daughters get any exposure if he’s not involved.
Because of this, he was unhappy with the idea of the show moving in a completely new direction and was opposed to letting his daughters have their spin-off show without him. Whether or not that’s true is not yet confirmed, but it wouldn’t be hard to imagine that situation judging by what we’ve seen from Jim Bob previously.
In the end, Jessa still has many supporters among the people who used to follow “19 Kids and Counting”, and we expect that a spin-off show starring her would see a lot of success with relatively little effort.
Because of this, we expect that there will be at least some development on that front in the future. It all comes down to Jessa being able to break away from her father and his demands and start being more independent, but of course that’s easy to say when we don’t have any direct connection to the situation. It might be that she’s simply in a spot that makes it too difficult for her to break out in any reasonable way.
