The Season 6 finale of “The Walking Dead” left fans in a cringe-worthy cliffhanger as they were in the guessing game of which character was beaten to a pulp by Negan.
The AMC hit series had shown Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Negan bashing one of the characters to death with Lucille, his barbed wire-laced baseball bat. The scene was straight out from the graphic novel where the show is based on.
Just when viewers were about to know who it was, the camera angle cuts straight from the point of view of the victim thus creating a long mystery along with the show’s hiatus.
Season 7 will premiere on October 23 and the victim will most likely be known. Photos on set have leaked and it gives fans a clue who the unfortunate character is.
Cinema Blend notes that filming is in full swing and that the cast and crew are already filming the 9th episode of Season 7.
Photos reveal that Andrew Lincoln’s Rick, and Danai Gurira’s Michonne appear to be alive and well. Ross Marquand’s Aaron and Alanna Masterson’s Tara join them in photos suggesting their characters to be alive as well.
Tara was last seen heading to the Hilltop Colony with Corey Hawkin’s Heath. It remains to be revealed if Tara is with Heath of if they parted ways on the way to the colony.
Just Jared notes that the photos were snapped on the Atlanta set last Thursday. The next day, photos of Rick and Michonne shooting a scene outside surfaced with Rick pointing his gun at someone or something.
The Spoiling Dead Fans Facebook page also handed out some filming updates the past week with sightings of other fan-favorite characters spotted on the set.
The spoilers suggest that Norman Reedus’ Daryl, Lauren Cohan’s Maggie, Seth Gilliam’s Father Gabriel, Tom Payne’s Jesus, Sonequa Martin-Green’s Sasha, and Christian Serratos’ Rosita was spotted filming the second half of the season which means their characters are likely to make it alive from Negan’s wrath.
There were also unconfirmed reports of Lennie James’ Morgan and Chandler Riggs’ Carl being spotted on set. The report says the two were filming in a more secure indoor location hence they were not easily spotted.
This leaves the fate of Steven Yuen’s Glenn and Melissa McBride’s Carol on the line. Carol was seen in the season’s trailer which points to Glenn being the victim.
Fans know that in the source material, it was Glenn that received a great beating from Negan’s deadly weapon thus killing him.
Glenn’s death already became a running mystery last season when he was believed to be killed after he was pushed into a pool of walkers.
However, Michael Cudlitz’ Abraham and Josh McDermitt’s Eugene have also not been seen in photos which could also mean one of them was the victim.
The trailer for the season premiered during the San Diego ComicCon and it showed some of the character’s fate in Season 7. Carol and Morgan seemed to have been abducted by a group with Carol appearing mentally unstable.
The trailer saw the introduction of a new faction that Rick and his gang will face. The Kingdom is a notable iconic group in the novel which will be introduced in the upcoming season.
The trailer also gave a glimpse of their leader Ezekiel, played by Khary Payton, as well as his pet tiger Shiva, who does not entertain strangers well.
In the comic books, Ezekiel is a foe of Negan and will be an ally of Rick’s group. Reports say that the character and his pet will debut on the 3rd episode of the seventh season.
NY Daily News reports that a new character named Brion will also be introduced in Season 7. The character is reportedly a well-traveled and experienced leader, who will not allow his emotions to take over in panic-inducing situations.
