The fourth season of the American supernatural drama TV series “The Originals” shall be returning to The CW in January 2017 instead of its usual fall schedule as the network reinforces its programming strategy.
Based on previous reported plotlines for the fourth season of “The Originals,” since the Mikaelsons had been bundled together by Marcel Gerard, played by Charles Michael Davis, during the Season 3 finale, their rescue has been left to the hands of Hayley, played by Phoebe Tonkin, and her daughter Hope, to be played by Summer Fontana.
The reports have also been fairly consistent in saying that Hayley shall be drawing on her werewolf roots to rescue Klaus and the rest of the Mikaelsons from the enslaving spell of Marcel.
However, as she and her daughter Hope finds the cure, which they could do so with the help of the seven werewolf packs, she would discover something strange with her daughter.
Reports have it that Hayley shall find out that Hope has a dark side to her, which actually is not surprising since she is the daughter of Klaus Mikaelson, reports the Parent Herald.
A five-year time jump
It has already been confirmed that Season 4 of “The Originals” shall have a five-year time jump in order to hasten the storyline and show the rescue of the Mikaelsons.
Once he is back, Klaus, along with Hayley shall also work on protecting Hope against a mysterious force that is determined to cause harm to the children of New Orleans.
Apparently, the Season 4 villain shall not be Marcel anymore but is likely Alistair Duquesne, to be played by Neil Jackson. Alistair actually holds a hundred years of grudge against the original vampires.
Interestingly, the force causing harm to children of New Orleans might be connected in a way with Alistair so that would make the fight with Mikaelsons really interesting.
It would also be interesting to see if Vincent Griffith, played by Yusuf Gatewood, would also turn to become another villain in Season 4 of “The Originals,” the way that Marcel suddenly turned as one during Season 3.
Coming into her own
Actress Phoebe Tonkin, in a recent interview, revealed more details about Hope in the upcoming Season 4 of “The Originals.”
She said that Hope will begin coming to her own in the fourth season of the show and shall come out as a very formidable young witch, cites the Christian Post.
The actress also expects Hope to become an ally to Freya, played by Riley Voelkel, rather than a protégé of her father or mother.
As such, the villains of “The Originals” Season 4 shall have to contend not only with the Mikaelsons but also the budding power of Hope.
A tough journey for Hayley
At the start of the fourth season of “The Originals,” the rescue of the Mikaelsons from the spell that Marcel placed on Klaus and then linked by Freya to all of them, can only be undone by their two remaining family members, unless the showrunners decide to bring in Damon and Stefan Salvatore from its parent series “The Vampire Diaries.”
Klaus is destined to spend eternity writhing in pain because of the Tunde Blade embedded in his chest. Freya, Elijah, played by Daniel Gillies, and Kol, played by Nathaniel Buzolic, were all supposed to die but the witch used a complicated spell that sent their souls in a different realm.
Their sister Rebekah, played by Claire Holt, will not be able to help too since she has to deal with her own curse as well.
According to latest reports, Hayley and Hope will work together and find the seven werewolf packs, which shall be very important in rescuing the Mikaelson clan from their current dilemma.
It was during the San Diego ComicCon 2016 last month that executive producer Michael Narducci hinted that Hayley shall have a tough journey ahead of her in Season 4 of “The Originals.”
