The Legend of Zelda Series Creator Guarantees Something New with ‘The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’ on the Wii U and the NX

Eiji Aonuma, series creator of the open world action-adventure video game “The Legend of Zelda” has announced during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 that the next iteration of the game is to be officially called “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” and it will come to the Wii U and the NX next year.

While Japanese game developer Nintendo has yet to officially announce the release date of the game, speculations are rife that it would happen in March 2017, which also means that the company’s latest gaming platform would launch either before or during that date.

Aonuma said that gamers should look forward to the game because he guarantees that it will offer something new the way they were able to do with “The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time,” notes the PC Advisor of UK.

He explained that “The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time” has always been the base of the company’s secret sauce for the franchise but in the upcoming iteration of the game, they will change it dramatically and it would be like going from Japanese food to Continental dishes. Aonuma added that he is sure that players of the game shall be surprised.

“The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U has been announced as early as 2013. In fact, it was expected to make its debut during the E3 2015 last year but nothing happened.

Apparently, Nintendo was planning to launch the game with a version for the NX in tow which is likely the reason for its intentional delay. What seems confirmed at this point is that the game shall come out next year, regardless of whether it will happen in March or any other month.

When asked recently about the stage of development of the new “The Legend of Zelda” game, Aonuma said that he was already putting together things for the characters’ dialogue and the in-game text, or about the same time when we was doing the same at the end stages of development for the “Skyward Sword” for the Wii.

Finally a reality

Despite the absence of the official rollout date, the good news for gamers is that the game will finally be a reality after nearly four years of wait from the time that Nintendo made its first announcement.

More importantly, based on gamer feedback after seeing the gameplay and having the walkthrough at Nintendo’s E3 2016 booth, “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” turned out to be a boundary-breaking new game in the acclaimed video game series, notes Nintendo on its website.

The game is actually a new take on “The Legend of Zelda” series and gives main character Link an unprecedented amount of freedom in its open world.

The outlet also cited the superb voice acting in “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” based on its official trailer alone.

As far as features are concerned, the new game enables gamers to step into a world of adventure, discovery, and exploration as they can travel across fields, through forests, and to mountain peaks and they discover what has become of the ruined kingdom of Hyrule.

Plunging into the wilderness

Players can also explore the wilds of Hyrule any way they like. They can climb up towers and mountain peaks in search of new destinations, then set their own path to get there and plunge into the wilderness.

As they journey through their chosen path, they will be battling various enemies, hunt wild beasts, and gather ingredients for the food and elixirs that they would need to sustain them in their missions.
