Now that the action-adventure game “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U is unlikely to be released this year, game producer Eiji Aonuma said that Nintendo would just make up for it by rewarding gamers for their long wait and patience.
In a video statement released recently, Aonuma said that they are no longer making a 2015 release of “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U their top priority. Instead, their focus now is to make the most complete and best “The Legend of Zelda” game ever.
He added that the additional time that they have gotten as a result of the delay in the release of the popular video game would enable them to reward Wii U gamers for their patience and he assured them that it would surely be worth the wait, notes The Gospel Herald.
Aonuma also thanked the fans and gamers for their continued support. While the gist of the game producer’s statement was heartbreaking to say the least, since most of the fans and gamers were expecting to get a copy of the game when the holiday season arrives, the good thing is that they are assured that it would be a better game upon its release.
A game without any bug or glitch
Scott Moffitt, Nintendo America executive vice president said at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2015 in June that the company wants to release a game that is fully developed without any bug or glitch.
While he also brought the bad news that “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U will not be released this year, he nonetheless assured fans that the development team is very much hard at work on the game, working to ensure that there will be no major issue that the game would face upon its release next year.
Moffitt said that everyone in the company wants the new game to become the best “The Legend of Zelda” experience. He added that fans and gamers deserve an excellent game so they would release when the game is ready, it has the full features needed, and can already live up to what they would like to deliver.
‘The Legend of Zelda’ movie
It has already been confirmed recently that plans are now in the works for a Zelda movie. In fact, Shigeru Miyamoto, creator of “The Legend of Zelda” and “Mario” games has recently discussed the potential casting for the film.
Takashi Tezuka, designer and director of the numerous “The Legend of Zelda” and “Mario” games, added that they would like someone who is completely new and indicated that a Japanese actor may not be the best fit for the character, details Gamespot.
Tezuka explained that he personally thinks that Link should be played by a female actress that has boyish features. He adds that Link is very different to how Japanese female looks so the female actress should not be a Japanese.
Miyamoto also said that when he attended the Japanese Expo recently, there were so many people in cosplay and some of them really looked very good. Any of them, he said, would be good to play as Link.
“The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U will eventually be released but since Nintendo has yet to make a statement or announcement about an exact release date, the gamers’ anxious moments continue.
Nintendo has announced last month that it is going to release “The Legend of Zelda: Tri-Force Heroes” on the 3DS on October 23 with a retail price of $39.99.
The game is said to be quite unique because it is the only “The Legend of Zelda” game that can be played multiplayer with other players.
Now that “The Legend of Zelda: Tri-Force Heroes” on 3DS has a release date, Nintendo can focus on finding an exact date for the rollout of “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U, which could finally happen next year or at the latest, in 2017.
