Since skipping last year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), Nintendo hasn’t given fans much information about the upcoming installment in “The Legend of Zelda” franchise.
Gamerant reports that multiple delays to the title, limited gameplay footage that tends to be light on meaningful content, and the fact that an official logo has yet to be revealed, have led many avid players to believe that the game won’t be released until 2017.
Nintendo continues to be coy when it comes to the upcoming game “The Legend of Zelda” on the Wii U gaming console. Interestingly, the company has also been quiet about the release of the Nintendo NX.
That said, rumors are now floating around that the game along with the hardware will have a dual release and that “The Legend of Zelda” will also come out on the NX, ahead of its long-awaited Wii U version.
According to a Forbes contributor Paul Tassi, the next Nintendo Direct will be revealing the NX sometime this April or May.
At the same timeline, Tassi suggests that “The Legend of Zelda” on NX will be released a month after, and the Wii U version, some months later.
Tassi adds that during this year’s E3, Nintendo will likely allow hands-on time with both versions of the game as well as other NX games.
Nintendo will likely release the NX by November and “The Legend of Zelda” will be released shortly after in December, according to Tassi’s timeline. It is possible that “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U version will come out early next year, or Nintendo may decide to launch it along with its NX version in December.
Many are convinced that Tassi’s timeline holds some truth to it and that the release dates seem very plausible given Nintendo’s slate of games to be released this year.
Almost a year ago, Nintendo announced a partnership with Japanese mobile developer DeNa to produce games for smart devices featuring Nintendo IPs.
The company also announced a new game platform with a brand new concept called the Nintendo NX and confirmed that it will be released sometime in 2016.
Reports say that the NX is the future of gaming consoles and that it could potentially be the death of Wii and other competing consoles.
As per IGN, the NX could be the host of at least two Square Enix titles and that “Dragon Quest X and XI” may be slated for an NX release too.
Some reports say that despite being mum on the Nintendo NX, the company is prepping the game and the console for a dual release later this year.
Some reports point to a July release for both, but Nintendo still has to confirm if this is true.
While the Japanese company has not yet given word on this, “The Legend of Zelda” producer has released new details about the upcoming game.
In an interview with Japanese magazine Famitsu, Eiji Aonuma reveals that he made sure he kept fans up to speed in the development of the game and doused their worries about the much-awaited title.
With regards to gameplay, Aonuma teased that fans will experience something new in “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U.
He compared the change will somehow be similar to that of “Ocarina of Time,” the first 3D entry in the role-playing game series launched in 1998.
The particular installment is regarded as one of the best games in the franchise as it was a big leap in the gaming series. Furthermore, it proved to be a literal game-changer.
Aonuma says that the upcoming game’s basis was the “Ocarina of Time” and that players will be very surprised with the change in the flavor of the game.
The game producer adds that he and his team are still busy working on “The Legend of Zelda” on Wii U, but hinted that they are in the final stages of production as he reveals that the game is taking shape according to their plan.
