More space at the back
Incidentally, Elon Musk recently announced that they have just made modifications on the Model 3 to expand its trunk and cargo space in the back of the car.
Musk said that they took care of the trunk opening to make it larger. He added that the back seat will also be able to fold flat in order to provide more than sufficient space to fit a body in the back, which would make it ideal for sleeping as well.
According to Musk, the foldable seat would leave 5’6” of space from the back of the front seats to the end of the trunk, which is quite roomy alright.
The trunk and cargo space of the Model 3 was put under scrutiny because of the review of the Model S, which offered users with very limited space for cargo.
The feature would be very important for the would-be users of the Model 3 as they would be able to visualize a significant cargo space in the back of their electric sedan.
Musk even said that a bike will have no problem fitting in the cargo space of the Model 3. Still, most people found the trunk opening of the Model 3 prototype to be the bottleneck and not the space in the back. However, Musk said that they have addressed and fixed the problem, which means that they have made the trunk opening wider.
That would be known once Tesla Motors unveils the latest prototype or first designs of the Model 3 either in the first half or second half of next year.
