Nintendo has released patch 1.1.0 on its popular fighting game “Super Smash Bros 4” on July 31 and the update brought a lot of changes and improvements to the game, much to the delight of gamers.
The more high-profile changes that the update brought forth included the Mii costumes for K. Rool, Chrom, K.K. Slider, and many others, new stages including Miiverse and N64 levels, a Tourney mode, and the ability to upload replays to YouTube.
However, the most interesting changes that it made were on the characters or fighters of the video game. Although it cannot be seen outright but the improvements on the characters meant more balance for the game and sort of level the playing field in the fighting roster.
According to iDigital Trends, it may be hard to tell exactly how a specific fighter has been changed because many have actually been left the same. However, to see the minute adjustments, Smashboards has been keeping track of every little tweak.
Changes on the characters
Captain Falcon, for instance, has gone from 14% to 13%. Although he is one of the newest fighting characters in the game, it is actually Lucas from “Mother 3” who received the most changes brought about by patch 1.1.0. The sweet and sour spots of certain attacks have been altered, the hitbox size and the damage now given, as well as changes to the character’s grab.
The two new other additions – Roy from “Fire Emblem” and Ryu from “Street Fighter” remain unchanged.
Classic “Super Smash Bros 4” characters like Lucina, Marth, Robin, Palutena and Wii Fit Trainer all received changes in some way, making them do better in the fighting contest. There are also alterations made on Diddy Kong.
Nintendo obviously wanted to even the playing field because ZeRO made it look so easy when he took the Evo crown earlier this year.
There are a total of 55 characters in the fighting roster of “Super Smash Bros 4,” four of them were added via DLC expansions including Mewtwo from “Pokemon,” Lucas, Roy, and Ryu, details Christian Today.
There are speculations that there would be another round of DLC expansion that shall bring other new characters to “Super Smash Bros 4.” According to rumors, one of the characters that would make it to the next batch is half-genie Shantae from the self-titled series.
The rumors on Shantae coming to “Super Smash Bros 4” heightened when Cristina Valenzuela, the voice actress for Shantae, was recently included in the IMBD list of voice actors who are part of the fighting game.
However, until Nintendo makes an official confirmation, all reports about new character additions to “Super Smash Bros 4” by way of another DLC should be taken with a fine grain of salt as of this time.
Free update
The even better news for gamers of “Super Smash Bros 4” is that patch 1.1.0 is free. After the release of three paid DLCs that brought new characters to the fighting game “Super Smash Bros 4” both on the Wii U and 3DS, the complimentary new content is a welcome relief.
“Super Smash Bros 4” is also known as “Super Smash Bros” and it was first released in Japan in September and subsequently in North America and in other regions late in October.
The two versions of the game come with the same gameplay features and character roster but with some variations in stages and features. The 3DS comes with the unique Smash Run mode which plays like an old-school platform game where players have to get stat boosts, defeat enemies, and take part in a match against three enemies. The Wii U version, on the other hand, comes with the Smash Tour mode, which is played like a board game, the Master and Crazy Orders mode, Stage Builder, and more.
The game versions for Wii U and 3DS have received a number of new contents following their release last year. In addition to three DLC characters, extra stages and new features have been introduced by the free updates including sharing options for the 3DS version, the Miiverse stage for the Wii U release among many others.

i wana see New Characters just 2 characters missing i wana see Like Vyse and Luffy
Anime characters can not be added because they are not video game characters. Sure, they have video games, but they are not video game characters by origin. That’s like adding Spongebob to Smash.
no body gives love to shadow the hedgehog or dr.eggman or king.k.rool
For the characters I want to see in smash as DLC, King K Rool (villain in Donkey Kong franchise), Sceptile (Grass Starter to complete the trio, charizard fire and greninja water), and Wolf.
