A lot has been happening on the gaming front around the “Star Wars” franchise, and those who’ve missed out on buying “Star Wars Battlefront” when it originally came out will soon have the opportunity to jump right into the game, as EA are releasing an Ultimate Edition for it, including all previously released DLC in one big package.
It’s probably no coincidence that the Ultimate Edition is coming now, as it’s been exactly one year since “Star Wars Battlefront” hit the market, and it’s a great way for EA to bring some extra attention to their franchise once again.
It’s also worth pointing out that the Ultimate Edition of the game will give players access to weapons and tools that were previously exclusive to the Deluxe Edition. This is something pretty typical for EA’s games, and in fact it’s a major reason for some players to hold off on their purchases for their big releases.
EA are also bringing out a brand new DLC for the game, which will have a connection to the upcoming “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” film, although the exact nature of the new content is not yet completely clear. We also don’t know when the new DLC is going to be released, but most fans expect it to come not long after the movie itself has arrived to the market.
The original release of “Star Wars Battlefront” was somewhat controversial among fans of the franchise – both gamers and film lovers – as it didn’t quite manage to capture some of the core elements of the original, according to some.

It’s possible that the sources of this rumor got their information mixed up with the talks of a “Rogue One” DLC for “Star Wars Battlefront”, but who knows, maybe there really is something else in the works behind the scenes that’s being kept a secret from the fans. We definitely wouldn’t put it past Disney to expand the franchise even more, especially on the gaming market where it could use a more active presence right now.
It used to be that “Star Wars” was actually quite heavily represented in the gaming industry, but the times have changed and the releases under this brand name have been far less frequent lately.
