The “Resident Evil” franchise has seen various changes throughout its lifetime, and there have been ups and downs in its existence. People have learned to be patient with the developers, as even though they have various creative ideas for the development of the franchise, they also sometimes make mistakes that cause them to lose some of their fans’ confidence. In the end, the games are mostly moving forward with various additions that have made the series a lot better as a whole over time, and currently people are quite excited for “Resident Evil 7” and the changes that it might bring itself.
There have been rumors that the new game is actually going to come with some significant changes to the gameplay, integrating advanced technology on a deeper level and making use of some modern gadgets that are still exclusive to a few select games. More specifically, the game is rumored to be coming with Virtual Reality support, powered by the capabilities of Epic’s Unreal Engine 4, and if that’s true then it could definitely push the franchise forward by a large margin and give it a lot of extra attention.
Of course, there are various other factors that will be important for the popularity of “Resident Evil 7”, and the game will definitely have to live up to some high standards for the overall quality of its gameplay, as there are lots of features that fans have been interested in lately, and have been suggesting them on discussion boards actively.
We don’t know if the developers have any plans to implement features that have been brought up by the community like that, but it would definitely be a smart move, as fans of “Resident Evil” seem to have lots of creative ideas for the game, in some cases even surpassing what the developers themselves have managed to come up with.
We’ve already seen Unreal Engine 4 used in various popular games, and the technology is starting to take over the market by storm. This is beneficial to developers somewhat too, because the more people that are using this engine, the better support it will have within the developer community, and therefore it should be even easier to come up with amazing games on that engine.
We still don’t know many other details about “Resident Evil 7” and the changes it could bring to the franchise, but we’re certainly hopeful that it will come with some more radical ideas for the gameplay. There have been some lower moments for the franchise at some points and it would be great if the developers now released a game which completely wipes away all the negativity that could have piled up in their fans from any title that was received more poorly. The current installment definitely has a lot of potential for such massive success, and it also has a lot of hype surrounding it so marketing the game once it’s out shouldn’t even be that hard.
It would probably be a good idea for Capcom to release some more official information about the game soon though, as people have been asking to see what the new “Resident Evil” will be about, and there is also some skepticism within the community too. It would be very easy for Capcom to dispel that by simply telling fans what their current status is, but the studio most likely has their own plans for sharing information with the public, and they’re going to do that in a more controlled manner.
