Queen + Adam Lambert Appearance in Brussels Canceled, Fans Not Pleased!

Many people in Brussels were getting ready to see Queen + Adam Lambert live about a week ago, but just as the show was approaching, the organizers suddenly came out with an announcement that they had to cancel the event due to unforeseen circumstances. According to reports, the problem specifically was that Adam Lambert was suffering from a bad case of bronchitis, preventing him from giving any performance, and he couldn’t attend the concert with Queen.

The singer’s condition was apparently caused by the last concert he attended with Queen in Frankfurt, Germany, where Adam Lambert really did give a lot of himself to the public – but it was apparently a bit too much, as his throat suffered severely from the whole ordeal and he had to cancel his plans for concerts in the near future.

Reports reveal that his condition was actually so bad, he had to receive medical attention shortly after the concert was over, and he was on a slow but steady road to recovery. The singer was quick to apologize for letting down his fans on Twitter, where he said that doctors had ordered him to stay in bed, and he couldn’t really argue with that until he actually got better.

He then went on to say that he’ll be making sure to drink plenty of water and take care of himself until he’s recovered, so he should hopefully be able to perform with Queen once again sometime soon. It’s clear that people want to see a lot more of Queen + Adam Lambert, as the concert in Brussels was already sold out and it was widely discussed in online communities of music fans.

So far, it seems that the group’s tour will only be affected in Brussels, and the rest of their concert will proceed as planned. Adam Lambert has been playing with Queen for several years now, starting in 2009 when they performed “We Are the Champions” together on the stage of “American Idol”, and then got together in Belfast for the MTV European Music Awards.

The performance that Adam Lambert has been delivering alongside Queen has been the subject of much praise, and not just from fans and critics – Brian May himself has stated that Queen are very fortunate to have come across the singer, as they are a perfect match and he adds a lot to their performance, even if it’s already good enough on its own. Of course, while Lambert’s energy on the stage is obvious and nobody is denying it, people are still not going as far as to draw any comparisons between him and the legendary Freddie Mercury, someone who’ll always remain in a special place in the hearts of true music lovers.

  1. Adam had his voice insured for this tour. I am sure that he could not go against doctor’s orders and perform without violating the insurance policy. If he damaged his vocal chords by singing without the approval of the doctor, the insurance would not pay for the costs

  2. I can understand what the folks feel. I would be devastated if it happened to an Adam show I was planning on attending. But I also know Adam would not have cancelled if there were any way at all he could have done it. I saw the Frankfurt videos and thought then that Adam was having some trouble and maybe didn’t feel well. It turned out to be true. How I wish Brussels could reschedule.

  3. It was so unfortunate that the Brussels concert had to be cancelled due to Adam’s Bronchial infection, which could have led to severe complications. Adam gave an astounding concert a few days later in Milan with supportive fans singing along to every song so he could hold back if he needed to preserve his voice. There was no need. He gave his all as he always does, forever the pro, never disappointing his audience. There is no comparison between Adam & Freddie. It’s “like apples & oranges,” both unique, mega talents. Adam has the Freddie essence, but definitely is his own man, bringing his own charisma & powerful vocal ability to magnificent, legendary Queen. It’s a brilliant alliance! I’ve seen this concert twice in the US & it’s the best I’ve ever seen! Don’t miss it!
