OnePlus Two Coming around Middle/End of 2015, Rumored to Have Serious Specifications!

The Android market is incredibly saturated – the most saturated of all mobile markets – and it’s very hard to break through with a new device, especially when competition comes in the form of companies like Google, Samsung, LG and other prominent names, all with their major flagships. And yet, in 2014, a seemingly unknown company made a big hit with the OnePlus One, a device that took the Android market by storm, partly because of its great design and specifications, and partly because of the ingenious marketing that surrounded its release.

And after establishing this solid name for the device, the developers have been enjoying a lot of attention for their next release – the successor to the phone, the OnePlus Two. The device was recently revealed to actually be named the OnePlus 2, with a change in the naming pattern for unknown reasons, and now it’s been confirmed that the company is aiming for Q2 or Q3 2015 for the device’s release. This was stated by Cal and David from the company in an “AMA” session on reddit, which is the site’s own version of interviews with its users.

The developers were additionally hopeful that Android L will be the norm by that point, but they didn’t specify much about the device otherwise. Rumors have it that the OnePlus 2 will actually be quite impressive, with a Snapdragon 810, 4 GB of RAM and a beautiful 5.5 inch display. On the other hand, there are also rumors that the company plans to follow the same release model as they did with the first device – namely, an invite-only model for those who want to get their hands on the phone.

Is this a smart move for a second device? It worked out great for their debut on the market, but now that the company already has an established name and following, they might want to try and reach a broader audience immediately. Still, they seem to know what they’re doing, judging by their initial release, so it’s likely that the OnePlus 2 will come out to a very successful launch, whenever that does happen.oneplus two

Additional rumors have been pointing in the direction of wearable devices that could accompany the OnePlus 2, but there has been no confirmation about that yet, and the device’s developers have been reluctant to say anything one way or the other. They did confirm that they have plans for that, but they couldn’t say anything about a possible release date, or whether it’s true that the device is being designed to accompany the OnePlus 2. It could be a separate, standalone wearable gadget compatible with a broader range of devices – it remains to be seen.
