Michael Bay, Akiva Goldsman Put Together Excellent Writers’ Room for ‘Transformers 5’ and Beyond

While rumors continue to persist that Michael Bay will be back to direct the fifth installment to the very successful “Transformers” movie franchise, it is now clear that the critically-acclaimed director and writer will be back not to helm the film but as consultant to Paramount Pictures.

Apparently, he has taken on the role of an overseeing consultant along with Steven Spielberg to supervise a writers’ room to be lead by Oscar-winning director-producer Akiva Goldsman to develop more stories and plotlines to ensure the future of the franchise.

Consistent with what DC and Marvel are doing over the past couple of years, Paramount Pictures wants to capitalize on the success and continued popularity of “Transformers” by producing more sequels and possibly spinoff movies too.

Excellent team of writers

The good news is that the “Transformers” writers’ room is pretty much complete as put together by both Akiva Goldsman and Michael Bay which greatly assures of a good storyline for the upcoming “Transformers 5” and all future films or spinoff movies of the franchise.

Vine Report cited the new team of “Transformers” writers include Jeff Pickner, whose writing credits include “The Amazing Spider-Man 2,” “Fringe,” and “Lost;” Zack Penn, who wrote “X-Men: The Last Stand,” and “Pacific Rim 2;” Art Marcus, who wrote for “Iron Man;” Robert Kirkman, who is one of the writers of “The Walking Dead” TV series; and Matt Holloway.

With such superb team of experienced writers, Michael Bay and Akiva Goldsman are confident that they can take the franchise to new and greater heights in the near future and beyond.

Waiting for a change of heart

Early this year, Michael Bay bid his goodbye to the “Transformers” franchise as director following the release of “Transformers: Age of Extinction” in June last year.

There were even reports saying that Jonathan Liebesman, director of “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” reboot movie shown last year, has been taken in to the “Transformers” franchise to direct the fifth installment of the movie series. Liebesman happens to be a protégé of Michael Bay so Paramount was finally convinced to let go of Michael Bay.

It turns out later that Paramount has not officially let go of Michael Bay as he was eventually taken in to lead the company’s writers’ room to be able to concentrate on expanding the Transformers’ cinematic universe. The goal of the writers’ room is to possibly come up with more sequels and spinoffs to the very successful movie franchise.

Latest word has it that Paramount is actually asking Michael Bay to have a change of heart so that he agrees to direct the fifth “Transformers” movie. The production company is obviously banking on the winning formula of Michael Bay in directing all four “Transformers” movies and each one of them is a certified blockbuster.
