‘Longmire’ Season 5 to See Walt Struggling with His Personal and Romantic Relationships!

The fifth season of the American Western crime drama TV series “Longmire” is less than two weeks away from premiering on Netflix and most of the reports about its plotline are indicating that Walt Longmire, played by Robert Taylor, would be struggling with his personal and romantic relationships.

A trailer of “Longmire” Season 5 has already been released and it showed that Walt may find himself in complicated relationships, first with his friend Henry Standing Bear, played by Lou Diamond Philips, and second with his deputy Vic Moriarty, played by Katee Sackhoff, notes the Parent Herald.

In fact, the outlet even insinuated that a possible love triangle would brew between the three characters, which seem downright ridiculous since it has never been written at all in the books of author Craig Johnson who wrote the source materials for the TV series.

Although it did also note that it is possible that Walt Longmire may be having a hard time dealing with crime as well as his possible romantic relationship with Vic.

The trailer of “Longmire” Season 5 featured a conversation between Vic and Walt, which seems to suggest that the TV series might follow what was written in the books and the two might end up in a romantic relationship.

A good number of fans of “Longmire” are not in favor of a romantic relationship between Walt and Vic because of their glaring age difference.

Betrayal as one of the focuses

Reports are also fairly consistent in saying that Henry shall be receiving an offer from Officer Matthias which would make him go against the principles and beliefs of his long-time friend Walt. Apparently, Henry will become a vigilante.

As a result, it would lead to a misunderstanding and that is actually one of the complications that Walt will be up against in Season 5 of “Longmire.”

In the teaser, Walt was quoted as saying to Henry that all he ever does was to help people but all he ever gets in return is people lying to him. Henry responded by saying to Walt that all he only sees is disloyalty. Walt responded by saying that dishonesty is not disloyalty, details Game & Guide.

In a recent post on Twitter, Cassidy Freeman, who plays Walt’s daughter Cady in the TV series, shared a poster of the upcoming Season 5 of the TV series with a tagline that reads ‘loyalty is a dying breed.’

It has since triggered speculations that betrayal shall be one of the focuses of the upcoming fifth season of “Longmire.” There are even reports saying that the strain in the relationship of Walt and Henry may result in the demise of the Native American. However, such premise is merely a speculation at this time and should be taken with a fine grain of salt.

Working together more

Season 5 of “Longmire” will be airing on Netflix on September 23 and most of the speculations about the hit show are saying that Walt Longmire and his deputy Vic Moriarty will really have a romantic relationship.

Based on the book of Craig Johnson which happens to be the source material for the TV series, Walt and Vic ended up as a pair.

However, there has been no confirmation yet from the showrunners, the cast of characters, or the network itself whether the romance of Walt and Vic would materialize in Season 5 of “Longmire.”

longmire

It can be recalled that back in Season 4, the eyes and attention of Walt were with Dr. Donna Sue Monaghan, played by Ally Walker. In fact, during the season finale, they were having that romantic interlude at Donna Sue’s home when an intruder suddenly interrupted it.

The speculations are saying that Dr. Donna Sue Monaghan would not last long in the TV series and Walt will end up redirecting his attention to his deputy eventually.
