The supposed development of the multiplayer zombie-shooter video game “Left 4 Dead 3” has been in the rumor mills for quite some time already that most gamers and critics are almost certain that game developer Valve Corporation has been working on it already.
“Left 4 Dead 3” is one of two video games that have been drawing much excitement, enthusiasm, and anticipation from Valve Corporation, with the other being the first-person shooter video game “Half-Life 3.”
What seems clear at this point is that because of the current thrust of Valve for multiplayer games, “Left 4 Dead 3” gets priority in development over “Half-Life 3.”
Other than rumors, reports, or hints that “Left 4 Dead 3” is currently in development already, the fact that “Left 4 Dead 2” is now enjoying an aggregate 10/10 rating on Valve Corporation’s online gaming platform called Steam, means that gamers are quite sure that something is up with the upcoming game, notes the Express of UK.
It seems that gamers are preparing themselves for the projected release in the very near future of “Left 4 Dead 3” and that is why they are browsing up and playing “Left 4 Dead 2” rather heavily as of late.
“Left 4 Dead 2” was released in 2009 so seeing it sparking heavy interest from gamers lately after almost seven years from its official rollout means that the players and critics know something that others don’t.
Based on latest reports or rumors, “Left 4 Dead 3” could actually be released either in 2016 or 2017 while “Half-Life 3” could come out either in 2017 or 2018.
Valve Corporation has been pretty quiet about both games amid all the speculations, perhaps content with the fact that regardless whether reports or rumors are true or not about the two video games, “Left 4 Dead 3” and “Half-Life 3” are sure generating the hype, the excitement, and anticipation of fans and gamers.
Not a prequel
When recent reports started coming out that the multiplayer zombie shooter video game “Left 4 Dead 3” will come out as a prequel to its predecessor game, “Left 4 Dead 2,” a writer of Valve Corporation has publicly came out to clarify that it is not, notes the Christian Today.
The video game takes place roughly a month before the zombie outbreak began which means that it will be set before the events of “Left 4 Dead 2.”
Accordingly, there will be six campaigns for “Left 4 Dead 3,” including Crash-land, Impasse, Inquisitor Land, Early Destination, Cliff-Hanger, and No Mercy.
The game shall also introduce four new survivors which are playable either by single or multiplayer mode. The characters will be three men and a woman. The three men include a gangster named Irvin, a comic book nerd named Keenan, and a famous Kenpo fighter known as Garrett Jr. The lone female in the group is Katherine.
No official video either
Writer Chet Faliszek of Valve explained that the video that was recently published showing how the infection began was made by Overkill Software, the developer of “Payday: The Heist.”
Faliszek said that it is not an official video for “Left 4 Dead 3” and does not indicate that the upcoming game will be a prequel.
The Valve writer said that the video is not telling the origins of the infection. He said that there is little cameo from one of the “Left 4 Dead” characters and a fun little Easter Egg with a payoff later in “Left 4 Dead.”
However, when Faliszek came out to debunk reports that “Left 4 Dead 3” is not going to be a prequel of “Left 4 Dead 2,” it means that he is privy to the current development of the game.
Knowing how Valve keeps its game development work under the radar, Faliszek would not muster enough strength to even think of answering, much more debunking latest rumors about the game if he does not know anything about “Left 4 Dead 3.”
