Jessica Jones Season 2 To Bring in Nuke and The Punisher, Can Fans Expect a Romantic Angle in Trish and Jessica’s Relationship? Let’s See

The wait for Jessica Jones Season 2 is going to be a long one, spanning over more than a year and a half. However, this isn’t stopping the viewers from talking about what they can expect from the Netflix hit series.

Jessica Jones Season 1 became the first Marvel series to win an Emmy Awards last night. The popular series won the ‘Outstanding Main Title Theme Music’ during the ceremony. The excited fans are hopeful that the upcoming season is going to continue the trend and bag some more Emmy’s.

Jessica Jones had already won the Best Dramatic Representation at the Hugo Awards and also bagged the Peabody Award.

There aren’t a lot of information on what’s in store in Season 2 of Jessica Jones. Speculations suggest that Jessica Jone’s (Krysten Ritter) investigation is going to come face to face with numerous villains from IGH. Trish Walker’s (Rachael Taylor) ex-lover, Will Simpson (Wil Traval) is also expected to make an entry.

The possibility of Will Simpson coming back as a villain in Season 2 of Jessica Jones was present ever since he was taken away by the IGH. The mysterious organization transformed Simpson into the Marvel villain, Nuke.

Apart from Nuke and IGH, rumors suggest that Jessica Jones is going to cross paths with Frank Castle a.k.a. The Punisher (Jon Bernthal) in Jessica Jones Season 2.

Jessica Jones and Frank Castle are both connected to Hell’s Kitchen and Daredevil Season 2 already established the connection between the two shows.

Jon Bernthal has already played the role of The Punisher in Daredevil Season 2, and it wouldn’t take much to bring him back to reprise the role in the second season of Jessica Jones.

With Marvel working on The Defenders, there is a chance that The Punisher and Jessica Jones meet in this series before they can encounter each other in Jessica Jones Season 2.

The possibility of having Jon Bernthal’s character in three Marvel shows isn’t far-fetched since Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson) appears in Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Jessica Jones.

Apart from focusing on the new villains, the upcoming season of Jessica Jones is going to concentrate on the relationship between Jessica Jones and Trish Walker. Jessica and Trish are best of friends and adoptive sisters, and there is a lot of depth in the relationship that they share.

Melissa Rosenberg, the executive producer of Jessica Jones, said that the idea of exploring Jessica and Trish’s relationship has been present for a long time. It is about a strong female relationship that evolves with time. They are friends and sisters at the same time.

Many viewers want the relationship between Trish and Jessica to develop into something romantic. There was the possibility of this, but Melissa Rosenberg has made it very clear that the relationship isn’t going to take that angle. The series is going to explore the trust and the strong bond that the two women share with each other.

Apart from love and intimacy, Rosenberg suggests that envy plays a dynamic role in balancing the relationship between Jessica and Trish. Trish and Jessica are complete opposites. Trish is beautiful and has a normal life, something that Jessica envies.

Jessica might envy Trish’s success and the normal life that she leads, but she mostly covets Trish’s heart. Trish is loving and is always ready to help those in need.

Trish is going to start digging information on IGH and figure out their connection with Jessica Jones. It was the same organization that paid for Jessica’s hospital bills after she got injured from the car accident that killed her family.
