‘Grimm’ Season 5 Will Feature Nick and Adalind Dealing with Parenthood Even as Baby Endures Complications at Birth!

Season 5 of the American police procedural fantasy TV drama series “Grimm” will premiere on NBC on October 30 but spoilers already abound all over the internet, which is only but a testament to the popularity of the show.

The Season 4 finale showed a massive shift in the dynamics of the characters of the TV series as Juliette Silverton, played by Bitsie Tulloch, died. Juliette is the girlfriend of protagonist Nicholas ‘Nick’ Burkhardt, played by David Giuntoli, a detective in the Portland Police Department.

It can be recalled that Nick also had to deal with the death of his mother Kelly Kessley Burkhardt, played by Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, during the fourth season of the TV series.

To further confound his woes, Nick also found out that Adalind Schade, played by Claire Coffee, is pregnant with his child, which is said to be a boy. At the very least, Nick is now drawing on Adalind as his lifeline of support.

Jim Kouf, one of the three executive producers of “Grimm,” recently disclosed that the fifth season of the TV series will see both Nick and Adalind working out their relationship and also dealing with parenthood to their newborn baby.

Kouf revealed that Nick will make it to the hospital just in time when Adalind was going through labor with their child. But to make matters worse, the new baby has to endure complications during birth and risk Adalind’s life, details the Ecumenical News.

Dealing with grief

In addition to dealing with parenthood, Nick will understandably deal with grief after losing Juliette. But his human partner Drew Wu, played by Reggie Lee, will be there for the Grimm as he deals with his sorrow.

It is unlikely that Juliette will survive Trubel Rubel’s crossbow attack, which the show creators have confirmed time and again amid fan speculations that Nick’s girl will survive and return to Season 5.

Many fans of the show said that they will only believe that Juliette is dead when it is finally confirmed when Season 5 returns to NBC late in October, cites Crossmap.

New character coming

It was recently confirmed in the Twitter page of the show that 24-year-old actress Carlson Young will be playing the role of Selina Golias, on the fifth season of Grimm.

She will be playing a sort of damsel-in-distress who initially survived a Wesen attack that was triggered by a feud. The attack resulted to the death of her boyfriend and the rest of her family.

When Selina survives the attack, she then attracts the attention of a Wesen king, who doesn’t care if she becomes another victim in the continuing Wesen feud.

Described as a cop drama with a twist, “Grimm” is inspired by the fairy tales of Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, otherwise known as the Grimms’ Fairy Tales, although the stories and characters inspiring the show are also drawn from other sources.

Many of the episodes of “Grimm” are loosely based on stories published by The Brothers Grimm, albeit with a considerable artistic license. Other episodes are based on other sources, including fables and legends, not published by The Brothers Grimm.

The TV series follows the adventures of Nick Burkhardt, a Portland Police Department detective, as he comes to terms with the discovery that mythological creatures called Wesen are real and that he belongs to the line of guardians, known as Grimms.

Grimm Season 5

Because of his bloodline, he is charged with keeping the balance between humans and Wesen, which is actually a German word for ‘being’ or ‘creature.’

Throughout “Grimm,” Nick has battled an assortment of dangerous creatures, with help from his reformed Wesen friend Monroe, played by Silas Weir Mitchell, and his partner, Detective Hank Griffin, played by Russell Hornsby.

Even before his superhuman abilities manifested, Nick already had the exceptional ability to make a quick and accurate deductions about the motivations and pasts of individuals.
