Rockstar Games has finally revealed that the promised Heists DLC will be arriving on January 27, 2015 to the next-gen gaming consoles. It will coincide with the release of “Grand Theft Auto V” on the PC.
The developer made the promise to “Grand Theft Auto V Online” gamers way back in October 1, 2013, when the game was first launched on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
“Grand Theft Auto V” officially made it to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 18, 2014 but the promised Heists DLCs were still nowhere in sight, causing anxiety and frustrations among the open world action adventure video game’s fans and enthusiasts.
Despite all the leaks and advanced information on the Heists DLC for the multiplayer version of the game, last rumored to come out before Christmas of 2014, Rockstar just allowed leakers to disclose as much information as possible on the upcoming contents instead of rolling it out officially.
While it did release occasional new game contents via its so called patches, it was still not the promised Heists DLC that multiplayer gamers were looking for.
Now, the cat is finally out of the bag. Rockstar is releasing the Heists DLC on January 27. That’s a total of 15 months or 484 days to be exact for the developer to finally deliver on its promise.
Confirmation
Christian Today reports that no less than Shawn Fonteno, the voice actor who is portraying Franklin in the game, confirmed that the Heists DLC is finally coming.
Sometime in December 2014, the Heists DLC were even referred to as Christmas DLC but now that the holidays are over, the new content will revert back to its previous name.
Fonteno also said that the development of the expansion pack of the video game is already on the final phase and that it will be worth the long wait.
In a report by Kpop Starz, Rockstar was quoted as saying that it is just in the process of addressing last-minute tweaks and fixes before it rolls out the Heists DLC as update to the multiplayer versions of the game both on the PS4 and Xbox One.
Appeasing gamers
In appeasing gamers, Rockstar also resorted to giving out leaks, via the game’s renowned leakers, on money-making cheats on the video game which would allow gamers to earn as much as $32,000.
Gamers get the money if at least four of them play the bike race feature of the “GTA V Online” called “Dock and Roll” and they die in it.
Although it appears as a gameplay glitch at first, it turns out that it was a ‘gift-giving’ initiative on the part of Rockstar, especially in light of the recent DDos attack on the PlayStation Network that had PS4 users down and out of the gaming world for a couple of days. As a matter of fact, the developer announced that it is extending the gift-giving gameplay feature for a few more days.
