It is not just the fans who are already excited to get their hands on the upcoming car racing video game “Gran Turismo 7” when it is officially released in the near future, series creator Kazunori Yamauchi feels the same way too.
Unlike the gamers though, Yamauchi need not get hold of a copy of “Gran Turismo 7” when it is finally released exclusively on the PlayStation 4 as he has been very busy working on the development of the game for quite some time.
In a recent interview, Yamauchi said that people will not wait so much on a game that is way too far from being released. He said that since the game is “Gran Turismo,” fans and gamers deserve that it comes to them earlier, details Gamespot.
Yamauchi’s latest statement about the release date of “Gran Turismo 7” was consistent with his pronouncement sometime in October 2014. He also hinted that it seems pretty clear that the game will come out next year and a half so it is likely that “Gran Turismo 7” will be released later in 2016, with the latest being early 2017.
The best entry on the PS4
When game developer Polyphony Digital announced recently that it is planning to make the seventh and latest iteration to its car racing video game franchise “Gran Turismo” as the best entry on the PlayStation 4, it was not making an empty promise. Neither was it simply making a marketing hype for “Gran Turismo 7.”
Apparently, the game development company is already looking ahead with the emerging competition other than the one currently being posed by the “Forza Motorsport” series, the Xbox-exclusive car racing video game.

Slightly Mad Studios has started its “Project Cars” video game franchise and reports have it that a second installment is due to be released soon. Kunos Simulazioni has also unravelled “Assetto Corsa” on the PC recently and accordingly, the game console versions will also come out by next year which will also bring new and exciting features.
Accordingly, if Polyphony Digital will continue to take its sweet time in releasing the video game to the PlayStation 4 soon, then “Gran Turismo 7” is likely to be beaten to the punch by the “Forza Motorsport” racing game franchise and the other emerging competitions.
As the game developer does not intend to be pressured and put its timeline on a fast forward mode, then Polyphony Digital has no other choice but to really up the ante of the game in terms of gameplay, graphics, and other key features.
More premium cars on the way
“Gran Turismo 7” is reportedly incorporating as many latest and premium cars as possible to its race car roster to make it as timely and as relevant as possible when it is finally released on the PlayStation 4 next year.
It seems like “Gran Turismo” series creator Kazunori Yamauchi may have hinted of a possible premium car that may be included or featured on “Gran Turismo 7” when he recently attended the formal unveiling of the new Peugeot Vision GT concept car in Paris.
During the event, Yamauchi has confirmed that the partnership of Peugeot and Polyphony Digital for the game remains intact which means that the development team is still free to use Peugeot premium cars in “Gran Turismo 7” including the recently showcased Vision GT concept car.
But Yamauchi nor Peugeot has not confirmed the possibility but the presence of the creator during the launch well indicates that he is very interested in capturing the image of the Peugeot Vision GT concept car and possibly transform it into one of the new premium cars in the upcoming game, which will be released exclusively on the PlayStation 4 by next year.
