Before Season 6 of the American dance competition reality show “Dance Moms” premiered on the Lifetime channel early this year, there had been reports that Maddie Ziegler, the breakout star of the TV series during its Season 5 last year, will no longer come back.
Maddie was able to establish herself as a breakout star last year that she actually appeared in three of Sia’s music videos. She has also been taken in for a role in the movie “Book of Henry” helmed by “Jurassic World” Director Colin Trevorrow.
In fact, it was because of her filming stint with the Trevorrow movie that Maddie was not able to make it during the first seven episodes of “Dance Moms” Season 6 and only rejoined the TV series on episode 8.
“Dance Moms” will air its episode 14 on April 5 and based on the synopsis, it looks like the inevitable is coming to the TV series – Maddie Ziegler leaving the show for good.
But it is not going to happen yet on the upcoming 14th episode as it will only show that she and her mother Melissa Gisoni have decided that she wants to move on from the show and take her act outside where more opportunities await her.
Bolting from the elite junior team
The next episode of “Dance Moms” Season 6 will show Melissa Gisoni deciding to take her daughters Maddie and Mackenzie out of the elite junior team and away from the competition.
The teaser of the next episode showed Melissa getting upset backstage at a competition and asks that her co-stars ease up on the drama. That is when Ashlee Allen questions her intentions considering that she is probably leaving the team anyway, details the International Business Times.
At that point, dance leader Abby Lee Miller asks Melissa what’s her reply to the question thrown at her. Melissa did not respond.
Another scene from the teaser shows Melissa telling her daughter Maddie that she is done with the show because she is tired and that there is more to the world than going to a dance competition.
It seems that the writings on the wall are already there and it all began when Melissa pulled out Maddie and Mackenzie from the team.
Rumors have it that they will make the announcement on episode 14 but the Ziegler sisters and their mom will still be around the show until the 18th episode.
JoJo steals the show
Based on the trailer of the upcoming episode which is titled “JoJo Steals the Show,” it looks like the focus will be on JoJo Siwa and Kendall Vertes.
Abby will break the good news to both Kendall and Maddie that they will be performing a duet. While both girls were very happy of their upcoming duet, Melissa will come in to say that Maddie would not be able to make it to the actual competition. As a result, the duet was scrapped and replaced by a solo from JoJo.
That had Kendall breaking down in disappointment. Her mother Jill will be angered by the decision to give a solo number instead to JoJo and she will confront Abby. The teaser showed Jill telling Abby that it always never works out with her daughter Kendall because Abby always makes sure of it.
The next episode of “Dance Moms” will see the competition also paying tribute to Michael Jackson, the late King of Pop.
Sarah Hunt, “Dance Moms” veteran from Pittsburgh, will return for a duet with Brynn Rumfallo to the tune of “Human Nature,” which lands first in the junior duet-trio category and overall.
Nia Frasier-Sioux’s “Woman in the Mirror” solo performance copped the third spot in the teen division while JoJo’s solo number for “Billie Jean” will not get any place but shall be awarded an elite gold. The group dance shall place third in the junior division but will not nab any award overall.
Meanwhile, in an episode of “Dance Moms” Season 6 early last month, Abby Lee Miller seems to have gotten the better of some of the dance moms.
With an apt title “Abby Lee Horror Story,” the episode featured the mothers of Maddie Ziegler, JoJo Siwa, Nia Frazier-Sioux, and Kendall Vertes, hatching a plan to put the dance leader on the edges and on the ropes.
