Dance Moms Season 5, Episode 14: Criticism and Drama Being Thrown around!

“Dance Moms” has been heading in some peculiar directions lately, as it seems like there will be a little more drama between certain characters, although nothing too serious from what we can tell. Interestingly enough, despite the main theme of the show, the last episode 14 wasn’t actually concerned so much with dancing, as it was with acting. And apparently, not everyone on the cast has been happy with some members’ attempts at the acting game.

Indeed, other than Kendall Vertes and Nia Frazier who just started their venture into their music careers, pretty much everyone else decided to try out some acting. Abby Lee Miller was very stern about the way the cast presented themselves as actors, and explicitly warned them to keep all their documents in check, especially the ones used to present their work.

She noted that she expects everyone to have a stellar resume, down to the right picture format – in the end, she claimed that the actors represented her as a business, and she was very insistent that this representation is a proper one that puts her in a good light. And in the end, nobody can really blame her.

Many were expecting Maddie Ziegler to dominate this activity due to her prior experience with acting, after she took a starring part in a music video for Sia. However, the team’s acting coach Dallas Lovato didn’t take too fondly to her, and in fact immediately started targeting her with criticism for her acting skills. Dallas Lovato, a 27-year-old acting coach, already has some serious experience in the industry, and she has had a first-hand look at the careers of some prominent stars, including her sister Demi Lovato.

Ziegler, despite the expectations towards her, actually started off on a bad foot and failed to state what her favorite movie was. This was taken very badly by Lovato, who immediately started explaining to her how she needs to have several ready and prepared phrases in her repertoire, without which she wouldn’t get too far. According to her, an actress who can’t name her favorite film on the spot doesn’t really have a bright future ahead of her.

And even though Dallas Lovato ended up giving some criticism to everyone after their acting session, it was Maddie Ziegler who took most of the comments. According to Lovato, Ziegler was behaving like she was out of energy, and seemed really out of place on the stage. In the end, Ziegler assured her that she had no problems with her energy levels at the moment, though that didn’t seem to convince Lovato very much. Hopefully, things will improve for Maddie Ziegler over the next episodes.

  1. These mothers and I use the word loosely are the worse bunch of women I’ve ever seen! They are the most immature petty silly gutless women on television….and that’s going some! I actually feel sorry for their children!!!! I hope the girls are set up for counseling because they sure are going to need it
