It’s obvious that “Clash of Clans” still has a lot of life left in it, and the developers of the game clearly aren’t going to give up on that gold mine anytime soon. At the moment, everyone is happy – Supercell have a stable, solid game with an active fan base and a lot of profits, while players are given a great title to explore in detail and discuss online, while they are also regularly engaged by the developers themselves who are always trying to interact with their community in a positive way.
Most recently, they have organized a special convention for the game’s fans where they can gather and chat about the latest developments surrounding their favorite title, and talk with other members of the community on their opinion on the current developments. In addition, there will be various goodies handed out to those attending, and players will get a great opportunity to get even more involved with their favorite title.
However, some seem to believe that something much greater is coming towards this game in the future, something that we don’t know about yet. According to rumors, there is a massive patch coming up that will introduce various changes to the formula and really spice up the environment, and although some of those changes could be a bit risky, that’s part of the process when developing a popular title. Risks must be taken in order for the game to move forward, and Supercell probably know this better than anyone considering how they have been updating the game before.
The new update could include additions to the Town Hall, with the highly sought after Town Hall 11 finally arriving. Supercell have generally been very careful with more major additions to the game like that, as anything that could upset the balance is usually investigated very thoroughly before being released. Because of this, we are convinced that the new Town Hall is not going to feel overpowered, although of course it’s pretty hard to tell until it has actually been released and tested by the public.
Those who don’t like to play with other gamers so much and prefer to go at it alone may also get some new goodies with the new update, such as new single player features that will expand the gameplay even more and make it more adequate for those who like to explore its features all alone.
Other than that, the overall difficulty of the game might be increased, and this is something that some players have been requesting for a while now. The general consensus seems to be that the game’s skill ceiling needs to be raised sooner or later as players are more interested in trying out special new techniques and exploring what they can do on a higher level. The game currently offers a nice balance between advanced skill-demanding features and elements that are more forgiving to players and allow them to more easily handle difficult gameplay situations.
But the game doesn’t do much “hand holding”, unlike most games categorized as casual, which is why it has been so successful on the market among more competitively-minded players, while at the same time securing a nice player base on the more casual front. There’s something for everyone in there, and it looks like this trend is going to be continued and expanded on even further if the developers keep up their work and the rumors about the new update turn out to be true.
