Apple Watch 2 to Feature Cellular Connectivity Which Would Allow Users to Call from their Wrist!

The Apple Watch 2 would be a lot better than its predecessor model because it does not need an iPhone to maximize its features and capabilities.

According to latest reports, the Apple Watch 2 shall be capable of connecting to a mobile network to complement its faster processor.

This means that the device could already work autonomously from the iPhone. Apparently, the cellular connectivity of the Apple Watch 2 shall allow users to do a tether-free calling from the wrist, which used to be seen only in James Bond films or some modern-day spy movies.

The connection would also allow users to receive notifications and app updates when their wearable is not connected to a trusted Wi-Fi network, reports Breathecast.

When the Apple Watch 2 did not come out in March, it was only left with two possible release dates which could either be this coming June during the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2016 or the traditional iPhone launching event of the American tech giant in September.

But since the smart wearable no longer needs an iPhone to show its capabilities, there is a good chance that it will come out next month.

However, this still remains as speculation pending the confirmation from the Cupertino-based tech company, which is unlikely to do so anytime soon or ever.

A technology that is not really new

Although it would seem that the technology to be used by the American tech giant on the Apple Watch 2 is quite new, it is not.

Those who are in the know also say that it is not even innovative because the second edition of the LG watch called as Urbane and the Samsung Gear S2 have already used it using AT&T’s platform to accept and respond to calls and text messages. The wearables can also access voice messages.

However, there are still reports coming out that the Apple Watch 2 might actually join the launching of the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus in September.

But for the excited users of the Apple Watch 2, they are no longer concern as to when the wearable will officially come out for as long as it will happen this year.

A terrible quarter

There have been reports that the first quarter of 2016 has been a terrible quarter for Apple which means that the effect of its launching of the Apple iPad Pro 9.7-inch and the Apple iPhone SE shall be felt in the second quarter of this year yet, reports Apple Insider.

After all, the cheaper iPhone and the latest iPad was launched on March 21 but officially made it to the markets about a week or two later

Apple shall be holding the WWDC on June 13 at the Moscone Center in downtown San Francisco as well as at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium about a mile away.

Reports have it that the American tech giant will be making the WWDC 2016 event really significant as it will be launching several new devices as well as new software platforms.

Contrary to speculations that Apple Watch 2 will be joining the latest iPhones for its launching in September, the latest reports seem to suggest that the American tech giant will be launching the latest iteration to its smart wearable in June along with the new MacBooks, and four new software platforms.

However, Apple has not confirmed any of its product offerings for the June event so even the latest reports remain as speculation at this time.

But since the event is meant for software developers, what is confirmed are the four software platforms that Apple is planning to launch during the event including the iOS 10 most likely, the latest updates to the OS X, the Watch OS, and the tv OS.
