Apple iOS 10 Jailbreak Absence Nearly a Month from the Release of the iOS 10 Gives American Tech Giant the Bragging Rights Again over Hackers

Before the release of the Apple iOS 9 last year, the American tech giant claimed that they developed the software to make it unjailbreakable or jailbreak-proof.

It did took a while before the official Apple iOS 9 Jailbreak come out from the usual Chinese hacking teams from Pangu and TaiG but it did happen.

However, it seems that the hackers did find it difficult to jailbreak the iOS 9 compared to the early versions of the Apple mobile operating system.

So when Apple released the subsequent updates to the iOS 9, it came also as a bit of surprise to same users that the jailbreak of each firmware update is coming far and few in between, so unlike the previous jailbreak, which often happens in a matter of hours or days after the firmware update is released by Apple.

In fact, from iOS 9.2 and up, the Chinese hacking teams were pretty silent about the official jailbreak tools and an Italian hacker by the name of Luca Tedesco suddenly showed up in the picture.

But Tedesco never made public his jailbreak exploits, he just showed that Apple’s latest firmware were indeed jailbreakable, as if teasing the Chinese hacking teams that they should think deeper so that they can solve the puzzle.

It was clear from the onset of the iOS 9 that Apple has made some security changes on its firmware updates making it difficult from the usual jailbreakers to do their usual thing.

The same thing is happening

It seems that the same thing is happening with Apple’s latest firmware updates. It has been nearly a month since the American tech giant released its iOS 10 and quite surprisingly, there is still no word from either Pangu or TaiG or any other jailbreaking teams that the latest mobile OS of Apple has already been jailbroken, reports iTech Post.

As if to tease further the hackers, Apple has actually released two minor updates to iOS 10 and there is still no word from the jailbreakers.

The two updates of the iOS 10 are the iOS 10.0.1 and the iOS 10.0.2. There are reports saying that Pangu is close to coming out with an official jailbreak tool for the iOS 10 but Apple cut them short by releasing the iOS 10.0.1 update that stopped them cold on their tracks.

Pangu disclosed that there were errors found within the Cydia tool of its Apple iOS 10 jailbreak that prevented them from releasing anything.

And just like before, Luca Tedesco once again claimed that he has jailbroken the iOS 10 but he never showed proof of it or never made public his exploits.

Apple also quickly released the iOS 10.0.2 update to fix app crashing issues and a lightning headphone bug. While the company did not specifically mention it, critics believe that it also included more security features to make it even tougher to jailbreak.

Making it tough for jailbreakers to catch up

It seems that the strategy of Apple with its firmware updates is anchored on speed and timing and it appears to be working, giving the company the newfound bragging rights over the hackers.

Accordingly, Apple did not release the iOS 10.0.1 and iOS 10.0.2 because it fear of a jailbreak. But it seems that the sheer speed of releasing the updates was enough to keep hacking groups like Pangu eating its dust.

So while Pangu was still perfecting the jailbreaking tool for the base operating system, Apple is already waiting in the wings to release a new update, which would completely negate any jailbreaks made to a previous mobile OS.

Apple iOS 10 Jailbreak

As a result of the speed of Apple’s release of the updates to the iOS 10, it would be foolhardy for iOS device users to take on a new jailbreak because it would just be useless after a short while.

However, the iPhone and the iPad have been found to viable to operate an untethered Apple operating system including the iOS 10. But once Apple releases an update or subsequent updates, the features would become useless.
