If former Queen lead vocalist Freddie Mercury is still alive at this time, he would have appreciated and respected Adam Lambert for his singing prowess and great vocal range, says guitarist Brian May.
Brian May is a colleague of Freddie Mercury for the iconic rock band until the latter died in 1994 at the age of 45.
While the rock group remains in existence despite the demise of Mercury, it was only last year when Adam Lambert agreed to front for them that Queen has become complete again.
He was so happy with how things turned up for their group that Brian May described Adam Lambert as a gift from God for Queen and for bringing his own unique singing style while rendering the classic songs of the band.
In a recent interview, Brian May was quoted as saying that Adam Lambert is a phenomenon and people can immediately notice it by watching him perform. He also said that Queen did not look for anybody to replace Freddie Mercury, it just so happened that Adam Lambert came out of the blue, notes Xpose.
Brian was actually surprised when they see Adam Lambert performed and he believes that the “Ghost Town” singer is really incredible. He also says that Adam is not a copy of Freddie because he is unique in his own style.
He added that Adam has a unique combination of confidence and humility, and he has the magic touch which resonates with an audience. He thinks that if Freddie was still alive, he would agree with his assessment and description of Adam Lambert.
First ever festival
The Queen and Adam Lambert are set to play their first ever festival next year as they headline the event at the Isle of Wight on June 12.
Brian May expressed his excitement on the prospect of Queen, which actually includes him and drummer Roger Taylor, making their festival debut next year.
His only concern at this point is that they may not have enough time to play all their hits during the event. He notes that the event is a very exciting prospect for the Queen + Adam Lambert because they have never done a festival before.
While they have been asked to play in a lot of festivals before, they have not agreed once so they have not done it in the past because they wanted to have control on what they would do. The upcoming Isle of Wight event will finally give them a taste of how things happen during a festival.
Commercial for Farewell Season
Meanwhile, Adam Lambert has appeared in the new commercial for the Farewell Season of the singing competition reality show “American Idol” due to air on Fox early next year.
Among the roster of “American Idol” winners and runners-up, it appears that Adam Lambert has become the most successful of them all in the music industry. Although some had their fair share of the limelight, it is not as glittering as what Adam Lambert is enjoying now.
Other “American Idol” alums in the trailer-commercial include William Hung, Kelly Clarkson, Justin Guarini, Carrie Underwood, Jordin Sparks, Phillip Phillips, Kris Allen, Jennifer Hudson, Le DeWyze, Katharine McPhee, Chris Daughtry, Fantasia, Taylor Hicks, David Cook, Scotty McCreery and Kellie Pickler, details Billboard.
The commercial also shows judge Jennifer Lopez making an appearance saying that “American Idol” is still the purest show out there where aspirants can make their dreams come true.
Another festival in the drawing board
Adam Lambert and Queen were supposed to perform in the Glastonbury Festival early this year but due to their hectic schedules, particularly of the former, they were not able to do so.
