Sam was the first in a long line of people that got Meri to see that she was being used and abused by Kody under the guise of the doctrine long abandoned and condemned by the LDS. Kody pressured Meri into yielding to his will against her best interests and for his selfish and greedy ends. Now she does who and what she wants.
