They’ve also closed their minds to alternative explanations. I have never seen a worse case of delusional psychosis gripping a whole nation and in particular the Australian aviation community.

Their own ATSB report of 3rd December 2015 spells it out in black and white that MH370 suffered a massive power failure to the SDU satellite antenna system from 18:03 to 18:25.

Inside there is a vital piece of equipment called the AFC Oscillator which is a highly temperature sensitive crystal. This is used to match the aircraft’s return signal frequency to the Doppler shift of the satellite. The AFC Oscilator has to be heated by a small electric heater otherwise the BFO Doppler shift becomes distorted. Obviously with an unpowered SDU, the AFC Oscillator’s heater was not working either.

This means the aircraft’s return signal wandered off frequency and appeared to show MH370 flying west in a detour around Sumatra, but after 18:25 the AFC Oscillator gradually warmed again which seemed to create a data track portraying MH370 curving back towards Australia from Banda Aceh.

Why is it that nobody at the ATSB seems to have the common sense to figure this out?
